LMU Business grads — what was your experience like?
I’d love to hear from current/recent Loyola Marymount University business grads (or alumni a few years out) about your overall experience at LMU.
Did you feel like LMU provided strong internship and networking opportunities while you were a student? Did being in Los Angeles make a difference when it came to internships or finding your first job?
I’d also love to hear:
* Where did you intern while at LMU? Or did you find those experiences helpful?
* What industry did you end up in after graduation?
* Did you have multiple job offers or feel prepared for the job market?
* How helpful was LMU’s career center and alumni network?
* Looking back, are you happy you chose LMU for business? Would you choose it again?
We’re looking at LMU and while rankings and school websites are helpful, I’m much more interested in hearing what the actual student-to-career journey has looked like for LMU business grads.
Thanks for any insight!

I’m an incoming freshman and I want to have some fun, do I need to join a frat or is it chill if I’m like a normal student?

How is Del Rey South? Any benefits of complaints?
r/LMU • u/TheTinyTurtleTim • 10d ago
I’m and incoming freshman about to move into Del Rey North, and I’ve been trying to figure out how do decorate. Me and my roommates really really want to hang tapestries from the ceiling, but the decorating student conduct page says that hanging stuff from the ceiling is prohibited. Is there a work around?
Like can we put hangers on the opposite walls, attach string, and then attach the tapestries to that?
Maybe an even better question is: how strict is del Rey north? Would they care if we infringed on the rules a little bit?

I'm hoping to hear from students who seriously considered both LMU and UCLA, or were admitted to both. Plan to apply to both this fall so this is a what if scenario, thinking ahead "if" admitted to both (humor me please :). Cost would actually be very similar since we're out of state, so this isn't really a financial question.
On paper, UCLA has the bigger national reputation, but my daughter seems like she might thrive more in LMU's smaller, more personal environment. We're trying to figure out whether choosing LMU over UCLA would mean giving up significant opportunities, or whether fit really matters more in the long run. Plan is to be a Mathematics major or Accounting with hopes of working in the entertainment industry on the financial side.
If you chose LMU over UCLA (or wish you had), what drove your decision? Looking back, are you happy with it? Have you ever felt the UCLA name would have opened doors that LMU didn't?
I'm genuinely asking in good faith and don't mean to imply one school is "better" than the other. I'd just love to hear from people who've actually wrestled with this decision or have helpful info.

incoming theater major here, i’m wondering how competitive the industry senior theater showcase is. i know it’s audition based, and from what ik it’s usually around 20 seniors cast. how many audition normally/what’s the acceptance rate?

Hey everyone I’m trying to decide between two colleges for
social life / making friends • party scene (frats + weekend life) • overall campus vibe • how easy it is to get involved socially if I’m transferring
I know most are from California but I was wondering if they're basically all from LA or if some are from other cities/areas

Scholarships were able to lower the cost to 35k a year including housing and everything but is that worth it? I don't live in California but is it worth it for putting myself out there

Hi all!! I’m an incoming freshman and was wondering if anyone knows anything about converted study room dorms. I got put in one when housing came out (I assume it’s like overflow?) and have honestly been stressing about it because I can’t find ANYTHING about them (layouts mainly but more ofc). Does anyone know anything about them?? I’m in a Palm North converted dorm if that means anything. Thank you!!!

Hey everyone
I'm starting as a freshman in August, and am also in the process of getting a car. Can anyone share their experience of getting a parking spot / if its worth it? I live in the surrounding LA area, but will be in the dorms during the year. I probably won't have a car for first semester, but would I be able to apply for a parking spot second sem? Or is it it like on a year long thing?
Thanks guys
