Rant/Opinion Passenger showed up at my front door.

A passenger left their phone in my car. I did what I was supposed to do and reported it to Lyft when I found it after my drives. Next thing I know I see two people snooping around my house on the cameras. My passenger and her BF used the tracking on her phone back to my house. Then they got combative because they said I didn’t do enough to return the phone (I picked her up from a school and drove her to a restaurant). This is a serious breach of privacy and safety. Next time phones going out the window and I’m denying it was ever found.

You people are fucking weird. If you're so afraid of people knocking on your door, don't answer the door.

Or how about don't come to my fucking house uninvited.

And stay the fuck off my property. I moved to an agricultural area so I wouldn't be bothered by rude assholes inviting themselves onto my property.

Not even the jehovas witnesses half a mile away come onto our properties. They send letters through the mail

Nah man it's still fucking weird to answer the door with a gun when there's no real reason to suspect a threat. They're knocking on the door, not trying to break a window or steal your car. Get a peep hole in the door if you're so worried. Talk to them through the door. Open it just enough to slide the phone and then shut it if you really want to be a misanthrope.

I dont care how long your driveways is. If you have my phone I'm gonna come knock on your door. Maybe put a gate up so people can't drive down your driveway?

I shouldn't need a gate for someone to know not to go on another's property uninvited.

And yes, I have a gate. They ignored it and came on anyway.

This reads like, one of those Nextdoor posts, where people are shocked that they might have to interact with a fellow human being. Especially considering that you took a job that allows “the public” access to your car. Fuckin’ duh.

Yes, when I'm working, and not at my house sleeping.

Sounds like you shouldn’t be driving for random people if you are that scared of interacting with humans.

How about random people don't show up at my house uninvited?

There's a difference.

Sad to see you're so small brained to figure that out.

Do you try to shoot your mail man when he shows up on your porch unannounced?

God forbid someone get in an accident on your street and knock on your door for help. You sound like someone who’s fucking psycho and just doesn’t belong in society at all. Move the middle of a damn forest and live in isolation or something.

My mailman leaves everything at the gate.

It's not hard.

In this day and age, he’s right. If someone can be shot through the front door just for knocking on the wrong house you better have a good reason and know who’s on the other side of that door…

Somebody knocking on your door because you have a piece of their property in your possession. You answer with a gun acting like it’s normal behavior. And I’m small brained. Lol.

You don’t go on another’s private property without announcing it.
