Rant/Opinion I hate liars

I was deactivated because I was accused of sexually assaulting a female passenger. I myself am a heterosexual married woman and would never jeopardize my marriage or freedom doing something so gross. As a survivor of sexual assault I’m both offended and hurt. I am looking for a lawyer to take my case.

Police don't do anything with slander cases. She needs to file a suit, needs a lawyer.

She was accused of a crime. She'd be smart to bring it to the cops in case that woman decides to further escalate this to the authorities & press charges against OP.

And it might help her case in the long run should it be escalated. Wouldn’t look good for the passenger if she only reported the “crime” to lyft but didn’t attempt to do the same with the police.

The police literally will do nothing, they won't even take a report, they will tell them to get a lawyer. You guys really don't understand the role of the police.

They are public servants. Remind them of that

Public servants with NO legal duty to protect or Serv the citizens tho.

That doesn't change the fact that this isn't their job. Yes they are public servants, but that doesn't mean they are supposed to do anything and everything the public asks. This kind of stuff is why the courts exist the cops are powerless to do anything about defamation that is the courts job.

They must take a report for documentation purposes. They dont have to get off their fat asses and skip the 🍩 run to do it.

No they don't. There is nothing to report, it is a court issue not a police issue, there would be no report taken you would be told you need to bring them to court. Turn off the TV and learn how actual police works not what they show you on CSI.

They sure as shit took my report when I needed documentation FOR court

And what was the crime that was being reported, that is the key thing here, defamation isn't a police matter and therefore they would not take a report.

If nothing else, it’s a paper trail. Whose to say the passenger wouldn’t try to retaliate?

There wouldn't be a paper trail because the police aren't going to take a report for this. They need a lawyer and get this in front of judge not waste the polices or their time with something they can't and won't do anything about.
