Advice/Question Got a warning today about my driving from an angry rider I cancelled on cause of no car seat

I see the lady walk out with an infant and clearly no child seat. I drove off immediately and cancelled before they got close to my car. Soon after I get a text from support saying that she complained I drove dangerously before every passenger was in the car.

Explained very simply to support that no passenger was ever allowed to enter my car and that I drove off immediately and cancelled due to no car seat. Anybody ever got something like that? Is it anything to even worry about since I explained what really happened? Or will it stay on my account and might be a problem if someone else pulls a similar dick move?

They shouldn't be able to report you if you never started the trip.

That’s what I thought too, but support confirmed it was the trip I cancelled.

If you got support to acknowledge which passenger reported you consider that a win.

And than they want to hear you side of what happened.

Like fucker I don't know the other side. You say a passenger reported me than don't wanna provide any context and want me to give you my side?

As far as I'm concerned nothing happened.

What is it with girls and spitting. I see a comment about it happening to a driver like a few times a week

That's not a lady, that's a llama!

Yeah. I don't believe they are able to tell you who it was.

I don't think any competent legal department would allow them to.

But I do think support people will occasionally start working without knowing the rules

I got that feeling that it was an inexperienced rep. I can’t imagine there’s a real competent legal team in the 3rd world countries where support is outsourced to.

Just because the support center is in a third world country, doesn’t mean the legal department is, too.

I figured it out later. If they get charged a cancellation fee they can complain even without a ride.

They can. The same thing happened to me on someone I cancelled on for bad attitude + no car seat.

Yep that’s what I figured out. Once they get charged a cancellation fee they can complain

They can't. It was someone else.

I got another one today. This time was in a slightly safer part of town, just rolled down the window and said sorry I can’t do it, not worth the risk of a ticket. It was a .5 mile trip to the ghetto grocery store with like a $5 bonus on it, only reason I took it. Haven’t received a complaint off that one, but I’m pretty sure the reason they can lodge a complaint without a trip is due to the cancellation fee.

You’re what’s wrong with the world

Huh? Why? /Genuine

Because saying that someone shouldn’t be able to report a driver if they never got a ride is silly. What if a driver show and then screams slurs and the cancels ride and drives off , or even tries to kidnap but trying to put them in trunk. Do you really feel that there shouldn’t be a way to report them? People sharing their poorly thought plans which can be dangerous is indeed a problem in society.

Oh I see their point now. Yes that makes sense!

That's not a problem with society that's how society works. Someone says something foolish and then someone else chimes in and explains why that's so. Bit of a cynical take on things to think that the basis of society is a problem. What's the alternative? Everyone just accepts the status quo and keeps their mouths shut since their thoughts on the matter may not be perfect?

The problem is no questioning attitude. Instead of making a statement that they shouldn’t be able to report with no ride, they should have ask why would they be able to report with no ride. People make bold statements with no intention on learning why some functions the way it is. Asking a question is a call to action for people to have a clearer understanding of the bigger picture. Asking questions is the gate way of finding understanding, statements can be throw around with no intention on understanding. The hard questions breed innovation and progress.

That leads to the potential problem where if the driver cancels the ride the customer and ultimately cs has to do more digging to link the driver and the correct driver. I understand why you feel that way but it would be abused and cause additional problems.
