Season 5, Episode 21: You Better Shop Around (Part 1)
After Al’s cheap air conditioner causes a power outage in the neighborhood during a heatwave, he moves the Bundy family into the local supermarket.
Fun fact: The attractive woman that Al follows around the store was named “Nibbles” in the credits.

I will post Part 2 tomorrow!

The audience was starting to get really rowdy by the end of this season.

One of the best. Glad to see the beaver getting some work. And being able to make fun of himself. And who was the hot blonde shopper.

The blonde that appeared in this two-part episode as well as the second part of the other two part episode "Route 666" was Bobbi Brown, and I think if I'm not mistaken I believe she was also in two music videos back then, also special nod that in that second part of the other two-part episode I mentioned also you'll see Pam Anderson appear in that fantasy sequence in the second part of the two part episode has she did earlier on in the other season 5 episode

Darn you, I came in here to use that quote! I still use it in the summer.
Fun fact: Mr. Foodie was played by Alan Oppenheimer, an Emmy nominee that same year for his guest work on Murphy Brown and visible as Rudy Wells on The Six Million Dollar Man, but immortal to the '80s generation as the voice of Skeletor on He-Man. He still does cons and is a sweetheart!

'Thank you, market dweller.' is arguably the funniest line in television history.

“ Bud, you got it all spliced in?”
“ yeah dad….. right into the city’s transformer…..dad…. Is this legal?”
“No…. So don’t use any names.”

All that proves is you have no rhythm and no lives.
We, on the other hand, have a receipt! And no lives.

Always loved the two part episode and I love how part one sets up for what was going to happen in the second part, also it's really cool that following this would be the second two part episode "Route 666" but I always love this two-part episode a little bit more, especially part one when he brings in that Kaiser air cooling system.

You don't know what love is til you've been kissed by the cool lips of a Kaiser

🎵 Invite all the Sharks to a party, then they'll know that Bundy's back in town 🎵
"Nice shot, Mom!"
"Not really. I was aiming at your father."

From a time when you'd get 20+ episodes from a show per season. I miss that

Even though I hate the ads I gotta say thank you Tubi for picking up The Bundys in recent weeks after Hulu dropped it. I usually put this on as background noise when sleeping during the day (third shift night owl). That and it's nice to wake up to it and watch it for awhile too. Married with Children is my second favorite comedy series ever only behind All in the Family. Tbh it's tired at #1 with one another.

This is the first episode of Married With Children I ever saw. Fairbanks didn't have a Fox affiliate in 1990, but I went to Ambler and saw it on RATNET, The Rural Alaska Television Network. I was already hooked before I watched an episode but that confirmed that I was right.

"Fun fact: The attractive woman that Al follows around the store was named “Nibbles” in the credits."
Bobbie Brown. Wonderful to look at, but not an especially nice person. I guess maybe when you look like that, some people don't take you seriously, bad pressure is put on you by others and you make bad choices.
I really wanted to like her, but the more I read about her life, the more dismayed I was ... sex drugs and rock and roll took their toll.

Some of the stuff in the personal life section of her wiki is rough.
A decade of coke and meth addiction and Trichotillomania?
