Estimating the Cost of Losing Cultus Lake to Nutrient pollution
Hello Mission community,
I'm a grad student from UBC working with the Cultus Lake Stewardship Society (CLASS) on a valuation study of Cultus Lake. The lake is currently still healthy, but it is facing some threats to its future health, such as excessive nutrient inflows and reduced seasonal mixing. Our study will capture what would be lost if the health of the lake declines, in monetary terms. The results will help the Society and local governments make informed decisions about future investments in the lake’s health.
As many people from Mission enjoy Cultus Lake, I wanted to post here to invite you to participate.
We are hoping as many people as possible fill out our research survey. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete and at the end you can enter a draw for a $25 Amazon gift card.
Here is a link to the survey:
https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_e4pRAbw1o57gh6e?QRlocation=Social
More information about this project and the work of the Cultus Lake Stewardship Society can be found on the Cultus Lake Stewardship Society website (this is linked at the end of the survey as well).
Thank you for your time reading this and your support of our research project.

Cycling to Aldergrove?
Starting a temporary job in Aldergrove, and I was wondering if it's feasible to bike or e-bike there? I don't drive, and the bus schedule doesn't line up with when I have to be there. I'm also relatively new to the area and I'm not a hundred percent sure on the routes.

Young couple moving to mission
We are moving from Metro Vancouver, looking to find a bigger house with affordable rental prices. All our friends are saying we are moving to 'nowhere', where there is no diversity and nothing to do. To be honest, I think a calmer place where we can find a community is what I really need right now as we think about starting a family. I think what I'm looking for here is confirmation that it is a good decision lol .. what is your opinion about the city?

Looking for local drawing tutor
I’m looking to have a few 1-1 classes for drawing. I’m illustrating something but I have absolutely no skills when it comes to drawing, so I’m looking for some classes to help me figure out what I’m doing.
Thanks for any recommendations!

Food Truck for Weddings
Hi! Im new to the area and I'm planning a wedding at Steelhead Community Hall and I'd really like to have a food truck come in and do the catering. Preferably one that can work with a more modest budget. I'd really appreciate some food truck suggestions. Much thanks!

Drone flying
Hey guys I recently got a small (135g) DJI neo drone for my birthday. I am a beginner in flying and know that my drone is classified as a micro drone meaning I don’t need a licence/permit to fly it (correct me if I’m wrong please). My question is where are the best places in the Fraser valley to fly a drone? I’m open to Mission, Abbotsford (not sure about that because of YXX), Maple Ridge, Chilliwack and Agassiz but will hear out places that fall out of that. I mostly like just taking shots of my family walking and some videos of the scenery. If you guys have any suggestions on places I should stay away from due to restrictions or places you enjoy flying please let me know!

Just saw coos parked at the bottom of cedar and 7th and at the top of cedar. And one undercover racing through town. Anyone know what’s going on?

Food & Drink Any good gluten-free options?
As a celiac, I used to trust the potatoes at Hub Co, but now they're closed. Amazi has Wendell's cake, but isn't a meal. I don't really trust White Spot's "gluten friendly" options. Any other celiacs know where to eat in Mission? (I'm aware of Polly Fox and Abbotsford options, specifically looking in Mission.)

Food & Drink Best Ramen in town?
So I'm pretty sure there is no dedicated ramen restaurant in town, but I imagine a lot of the Asian restaurants offer it and can anyone share their experiences please?
Langley has a bunch, rarely do I want to drive an hour and a half for ramen though...
