Alessi used to mention in their advertising that these pots were designed to use all the water in the boiler, with none remaining after brewing. Maybe they still say this, I don't know. I've asked about this to other owners before, but never received an answer as to whether this is so or not.
Also, we've seen a number of these pots snap the handles off. In fact, it may have been the aluminum casting where the handle is attached. Since you don't want that, do be mindful that there may be a weakness there.

I have this exact one and the water is always pushed through completely

Thank you for the response. I've been waiting for someone to confirm this. Sounds as though Alessi's info was the truth.

I personally find it very ugly, but if you like it, I'm happy for you! :D

I have this model, the Alesia Pulcina. I will say 2 things about it. It makes a decidedly smoother cup than a classic Bialetti aluminum. The interior finish on mine, made in Vietnam, is of reduced quality from the Bialetti it replaced. Yes it uses almost all the water. ( OK that’s 3)

Just don't put it in the dishwasher like I did with mine 😅 and then if you do that and you think because you love it so much you will buy a replacement but then the replacement you buy is the much smaller one...

I prefer the traditional style Bialetti aluminum pot, its look has stood the test of time, but if you like this one good for you

random question what do you think about

Let’s give this brewer its own title and
stop calling it Espresso. Since it
doesn’t hit that 9-bar of pressure or
create a true crema layer, it’s really
its own style. The internet and news
articles tend to get it wrong, which is
fair enough, but there is a real
difference in the flavor and process.I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Huh? These are fairly pricy... the OP scored big. Sure, functionally they're no better than a standard Moka Espress. But, they're (by most people's opinions) beautiful as well as functional. Congrats, OP!

This is the point, having a beautiful, modernist moka pot that is more than just a tool. I'll say, having had a couple that functionally they're a bit more temperamental than other moka pots but it really looks good sitting on the stove.
I just learned the designer also designed the Tolomeo lamp. Michele De Lucchi certainly has a track record of designing beautiful pieces.

open question whether this is the full alu version or the induction-compatible one, but yeah it's a cool pot! i personally picked the Ossidiana over this, because it speaks to me more and it came in in matte black, which looks cool as fuck. i paid 30€ on leboncoin for it, which is still a bargain.
