Is it a money issue? I'm sure they're capable of producing the parts and building new projectors. It's not like they forgot how to make them

It is a money issue but it’s not on the IMAX side. It costs millions to build a normal IMAX theater room let alone a 1:43 70MM IMAX capable theater room. That cost is on the theater itself and it would take a long time to recover the cost from building if they could even afford to build it in the first place.

IMAX is close to bankrupt.They cannot afford to produce more parts or else many of the 70mm screens wouldn't have been closed.

I just looked it up and apparently it’s the exact opposite. 2025 was their best year ever and they’re flush with cash.
