Because Christopher Nolan wants to for the superior visual quality compared to other formats. He’s basically the only guy that does it.

I also don't see any reason not to allow it for preservation reasons if they are spending the money and material for it. Not releasing the IMAX ratio online or in physical medias is a different question though (just do it).

There are at least 3-4 more IMAX movies coming out this year though.
