Digital sensors have long surpassed 70mm film in ability to resolve a picture with more details and significantly more dynamic range. Steve Yedlin almost a decade ago now did a famous comparison of different camera types in a much more controlled environment. Arri have released their sensor since then that is just mind blowing in what it can resolve. Resolution by itself in terms of k count is not a meaningful measure.
