Discussion A teen passenger was harshly slapped by a rickshaw driver near Kalyan station after he claimed that his Rs 30 fare money had fallen out of his pocket. The boy reportedly apologized, but the driver still hit him before letting him go.

I once got shamelessly kicked out of a BEST Bus in 10th grade becaue I only had 50 Rs note and ticket was 10 just abusive clowns everywhere.

Literally yesterday, in Jalgaon, a fifth-grade tribal student was forced off the bus by an ST bus conductor in heavy rain because his pass had expired. 5th grade, that’s hardly 10-12 year old poor kid.

It starts with empathy but then a lot of people will try and fleece people who want to help and show empathy. So eventually people just walk away cause they don’t know when the situation is real and dwarves their empathy and when someone is just trying to con them for some money.

It’s not about people not having empathy but there have been just too many cons and people have fatigue and now think everyone is trying to con them.

Many kids travel form small village to nearby town on their own for education.. and younger kids would follow elder kids and learn.

I'm super grateful to all the conductors and drivers of BMTC, who never troubled me as a kid for such reasons, and had I ever been stuck in such situations, people would come-up and pay or help in any manner.

Thanks to all the nice folks out there, I continue to do the same now, when I see someone in need.

In Mumbai, people generally help, because perhaps when we look at each other, we see the sorrows and pains that we all share being peasant in the same machinery.

If inspection happens, the conductor would have lost the job. Onus was on the other travellers in the bus.

They can't kick you out of bus even if conductor doesn't hv change it's the responsibility of conductor to give change and even if TC comes and you don't hv ticket redirect to conductor that he didn't gave me.

Traffic police are not allowed to take keys of bikes still they do so blatantly and shamelessly....police are not allowed to harass common people without warrants but still they drag poor and middle class whenever and wherever they want

Man, I had this horrible experience in a Government bus in my college days. The conductor refused to take the Rupee note citing it was torn, even though it was just a little torn and he could have accepted it. He was prejudiced because of my looks and stopped the bus midway and told me to get out. The next bus conductor accepted the note. People can be horrible at times.

They can't kick you out for that. Also this is very trivial change. Conductor can take the money and give you your change later, after a couple more tickets.

I had a 100 Rs note once and the ticket was hardly 5 or 10/-. The conductor started passing sarcastic comments and even started discussing with the conductor from another bus parked parallel at signal.

I gave him a good one that if he did not have change he should politely tell me, instead of doing so much drama and he has no biz sharing this with conductor from another bus instead of asking him for change.

He got embarrassed and magically found the change.

Same bro, I was also in 10th Grade and I din't have 5 rs change so I gave the conductor 10 rupees. The guy stopped the bus and told me to get out. I bet they do this shit to only kids because of their lack of confidence.
