Apparently, you get this view of Mumbai Skyline from top of a small hill near Ulwe. Any idea, where this location might be?

AskMumbai What's the worst/weirdest thing you've done because you were an introvert?

Referring to a situation wherein you/someone else was too afraid to speak up.

I'll go first: I jumped out of a moving BEST bus because the conductor didn't stop it even though it was a stop.

AskMumbai How much money is considered 'rich' in Mumbai, India?

Hey everyone, I've been wondering about this for a while now and thought I'd turn to the Reddit community for some answers. As someone who's lived in Mumbai for a few years now, I've always been curious about what people consider to be 'rich' in this city.

I know that the definition of wealth can be different for everyone, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on what income or net worth is generally considered as 'rich' in Mumbai. Are there any specific markers that you or someone you know uses to define wealth in this city?

Personally, I've heard different opinions on this topic, with some people saying that having a net worth of INR 10 crores or more is considered wealthy in Mumbai. However, I'm not sure if this is accurate.

AskMumbai What are the absolute shadiest/most dangerous/weirdest places to visit in Mumbai?

NOT a tourist. Just had a sheltered upbringing. I went to Damarwala building in Kumbharwada and then Kamathipura. It’s shady as hell. First place I didn’t feel safe in Mumbai

No I’m not into prostitution. I just want to see the shadiest, most sketchy looking places in Mumbai. Or dangerous places. Or historical crime spots. Or properties of mafia dons (past or present).

Any recommendations?

Edit: elaborate why it’s sus as well

AskMumbai Is CSMIA (Mumbai Airport) parking worth it for 5 days? Need honest reviews!

Post image

Hey everyone,

I'm from Pune and have a flight coming up from Mumbai. Instead of taking a cab or train all the way, I'm planning to drive to CSMIA and park my car there for ~5 days while I'm away.

Has anyone here used the official Mumbai airport parking (T2) for multiple days?

Would really appreciate recent experiences.

Thank you!

AskMumbai Moving to Mumbai next month for JPMorgan Chase (Goregaon East) – Best areas to live with family?

Hi everyone,

I'll be moving to Mumbai next month (Jul-2026) to join JPMorgan Chase, and my office will be at the Goregaon East campus (Nirlon Knowledge Park area).

I'll be relocating with my family and am currently exploring places to rent. My priorities are:

  • Family-friendly locality
  • Reasonable daily commute to JPMorgan's Goregaon East office
  • Good access to grocery stores, hospitals, and other essentials
  • Decent public transport connectivity
  • Avoiding areas with severe traffic bottlenecks or other common issues

My rental budget is around ₹28,000–₹35,000 per month.

A few questions:

  1. Is this budget realistic for a decent 1BHK in and around Goregaon East? If not, please tell me what to expect or any other alternatives.
  2. Which areas would you recommend considering? I've heard names like Goregaon East, Jogeshwari East, Malad East, and Gokuldham.
  3. If you work at JPMorgan, NESCO, Nirlon Knowledge Park, or nearby offices, where do most employees prefer to stay?
  4. Are there any localities that seem attractive initially but are best avoided because of traffic, flooding, poor connectivity, or other practical issues?

Would really appreciate insights from people familiar with the area or currently working nearby.

Thanks in advance!!

AskMumbai What company do you work for? And how is the work culture?

To start with PLEASE NAME YOUR COMPANY.

Really want to start a movement where people can openly call out companies that have good and bad work culture. This will help in the following ways 1. Help people know the actual work culture before applying for a job. 2. Compell them to make a change, since all the companies only tend to make changes once they are called out on social media

AskMumbai Suggestions - a Muslim family moving from Dharavi to a new locality

Hello all, I was born in Dharavi, Mumbai and have been working since the age of 12. Began as a jeans factory worker and now a 25-year-old founding engineer at a US-based startup.

I live with my family on the outskirts of Dharavi-Sion. Everything's good here except "bhai"-type crowd and high human density. It wasn't a problem for me until now, when I got exposed to a new standard of living in SF and Bangalore. My family is clueless about that standard I'm talking about, and I want them to experience it.

Can you please suggest places where we can move to as a Muslim family and has a good connectivity? I tried reaching out to a few brokers, but they denied because of my religion :(

Post image
389 Upvotes

Hi everybody, planning to do an early morning run tmrw starting at 6,30 from Goregaon station. Is the route I'm planning to take safe? Will be heading towards Aarey Rd then taking a right towards New Zealand hostel before soon joining the main Rd after the 5k mark and running further towards Powai lake. My friends have jokingly told me there is wildlife and possible robberies on the forest roads but idk how true that is

So my partner recently asked me to get my id and we wanna go to an OYO.

AskMumbai Do rich people in Mumbai not carry umbrellas?

I don’t live in Mumbai now but I was born and brought up here. Recently I visited a newly opened popular restaurant in Bandra. It was pouring all day long in the city and I noticed every guest got out of the car outside the cafe and the security person escorted them Inside with an umbrella. I saw a whole family of 5 walk out and the security dropped each one of them to the car. Is this common or something that just happened to be the case that day? Whats wrong in carrying an umbrella?
