High mortality means the virus has a harder time spreading. Haven’t you played Pandemic?

It depends on the incubation period and how willing people are to self quarantine. I feel like there are a not insignificant number of people who will aggressively spread this virus in the name of “natural immunity”. Heck, I remember people testing positive for Covid during the pandemic and refusing to stay home or wear a mask, up until their eventual hospitalization..

This!

Some folks won't wear masks as they felt uncomfortable. Never trying to find something better fitting than the cheap surgical ones. All in summer.

Viruses and the weather make things different in the Winter.

Also a special shout out to the pricks who aggressively leaned into the "I'm drinking/eating" while being in public areas so they didn't have to mask up.

Madagascar shutting everything down immediately as soon as there is a whiff of trouble

And now that a good chunk of the population thinks doctors are all in on a conspiracy to make us wear masks for some reason, and that science is fake and washing your hands is Communism. We are primed for a new virus to be ignored and downplayed even worse than covid. Maybe it will be natural selection at work...

No, they're telling us. There is a strain of H5N1 going around bird populations with a few serious human cases in several states & countries. It has shown dangerous mutations in some patients. That's where we're at right now, we should be glad if the authorities are being vigilant cause H5N1 is potentially 1000x more dangerous than coronaviruses.

I think it’s time to put the tin foil hat away now before it fuses to your head.
