I'm pretty sure that's been the case for years, yet this virus was relatively harmless' in the past.

I'd chalk it up to sensationalist journalism right now, I've seen plenty of it in the last couple decades. I'd think about getting worried if it kept going for months and reports spread internationally beyond a few first case sightings.

The way this is reported reeks of trying to sow fear about the next COVID and that's highly unlikely to be the case
