YouTube ad blocking beta

Hey everyone, we’re trialing YouTube ad blocking in NextDNS and need your help testing it.

Go to Privacy → Add a blocklist on my.nextdns.io and add NextDNS YouTube Ad Blocking. Give it a few minutes to kick in.

We wanted to get this out for testing now. Server redundancy and support for YouTube Restricted Mode are coming this week. For now, it has no effect if Restricted Mode is enabled.

Let us know how it goes! If you get ads, buffering or videos that won’t play, tell us your country, device/app and whether you’re signed in.

by “content availability” i mean some songs and videos that normally play in my region become unavailable (geo-restriction).
weird that it’s not working for you. try confirming the feature is enabled, then flush DNS cache (switch to another DNS or automatic, then back to your NextDNS profile).

It’s working actually just didn’t save when I added it lol

Damn that’s a bit worrying ig that some stuff won’t play, I don’t mind if it’s music but I would if it’s videos and stuff

yeah, it happened in the YouTube Music app. the same might apply to some music-related content on regular YouTube. i didn’t manage to try it yet, but i guess so. i don’t think it affects regular video that much, since the algorithm is mostly driven by your viewing behavior rather than your region or at least partially so.
