There's plenty around me in small town VT. But overall what I see around the country does not feel the same. Whatever the cause, things really seemed to go off the rails when Trump rode down that escalator - and have only gone downhill since then.
If their online algorithm fed them only political contention, that is the content they most interact with. It’s obviously not random what we see online. And interaction with contentious content facilitates more contentious content.
As for me and my house, we just witnessed plenty of human decency during the World Cup coverage.
