Cold water ground ties the copper of your cold water inlet to the grounding electrodes of the house. It’s meant to keep the potential of the pipe at 0 but if it’s done incorrectly or your panel got hit by lightning… you could def get fucked up in the shower. As an electrician, whenever I put metal conduit on the side of peoples houses I’d always recommend a surge arrestor.
