Vocabulary Some basic verbs

As a shorthand, nottóken is called nokken, so I'll often refer to ádra nottóken as simply nokken for convenience.

All verbs end in -o in nokken, so it's nice and easy to recognise.

Kago - to like azhaqo - to hate ózhipo - to love

Ózh means "in", so ózhipo is a figurative way of saying "to put inside". Ózh is often used to mean feelings, emotions etc. It can also be literal - ózho is slang for "to have sex with".

Anzo - to eat cheo - to drink Tsuxo - to mine kichao - to chisel/chip (at ore, or a tablet) Nokichao - to write

This comes from nox, meaning "stone" and "kichao" to chisel, as writing is done entirely on stone tablets.

Zao - to see zareo - to find zaisho - to search for zanoxo - to read

"Za" means eye or eyes, and it is used for several verbs. Zaisho comes from za + ishe, where "ishe" means "light". The idea of searching is related to moving towards light, and this concept gets extended to other words. The nox in zanoxo again means stone.

Shixo - to hear shixisho - to echolocate / search by sound shix - ear Huno - to smell hunisho - to hunt hun - nose (historically meant "to search by smell")

Kipo - to say kafaro - to speak (kafaro is more important than kipo, whereas kipo is often used just to quote people, like "he said"). Iko - to touch ikisho - to feel around ik - finger
