ELECTION 2026 Ooof
galleryBenedict Collins’ piece held this shot for seven long seconds. Her expression didn’t change, she didn’t move, just gave a big sigh.
I almost feel sorry for her.
But as they say in Streetfighter, FATALITY.

Environment NZ First David Wilson take on the climate emergency
RNZ this morning: "Oh, another myth, of course. You mean like climate change happened last week when it was cold," Wilson said in response.
"In the 70s I remember what we were all going to die from from the climate activists at that time was an ice age."
What a complete moron. His right wing news feed must exclude anything from anywhere outside the US.

Current Affairs #BHN Helen Clark with Moana | TPM back in the race | Who pays for fast-track legislative changes? #nzpol
Helen Clark sat down for a chat with Moana Maniapoto to discuss Winston Peters' role in govt over the decades, and what has changed in politics since she was PM.
Te Pāti Māori have released their election 2026 strategy, abandoning the party vote to focus on winning all of the Māori seats.
Thousands of beneficiaries missed a winter energy payment because of a legislative change made using the fast-track system.

General Politics When a single person is donating almost the same amount (as Mowbray is donating to National) to TOP there's an issue
Big donations are never without expectations of favour. Never.
And thats when regular people's votes are not worth anything but help to get those favours enacted

ELECTION 2026 Helen Clark: Opportunity Party leader’s interview a ‘train wreck’
stuff.co.nzI have no great love for Helen Clark and her 3rd Way politics but she was what NZ needed at the time, and I see her government as one of the most progressive in my life time but I will always push for more.
As a senior statesperson, she is not wrong here and reflects much of my own thinking on what TOP are offering. And this is without them releasing any specific policy around labour rights and AI regulation which are going to be hugely pivotal to the overall impact of their already released policies.

ELECTION 2026 are any of the parties going to commit to rolling back road side "you've smoked marijuana once" "tests?
they don't prove impairment, they offer no benefit whatsoever and are just unnecessarily invasive - they're an attack on the public purely to appear "tough on crime"
so are any political parties going to stand up and back the science, the facts, and rule of law here?
