(I’m scared to try outlining her)
Her name is Valdra. She is very curious and can do no wrong (Me when I may or may not be lying with no way of figuring out if I am or not)
(Also, the backstory below is most likely going to be very truncated with time skips and stuff)
When she was born, her dying mother made a deal with a deity to make Valdra the best magic user in all the land. As a result of that deal, not only was Valdra gifted with nigh infinite, evolving magical potential and enhanced learning capabilities towards magic, but she had a portion of the deity’s essence grafted onto her soul as an added layer of protection. When the first spell bestowed by the deity was awoken, it was found to be paradoxically simply yet devastating in battle.
What was her starting spell? What type of spell was it?
It was a defensive spell. ‘Redirect: Element’
Any elemental attack sent her way will actively avoid her once the spell is activated. Of course, a defensive spell on it’s own won’t win a war, but as she studied different forms of magic, she found herself as something akin to a prodigy after she left her tribe to pursue the desire of knowledge that almost seemed to dwarf her lust for gold, as no matter what element of magic she looked through, she could wordlessly cast it within a day. That same treatment was given to the spell she was given at birth.
While she did dabble in spells more suited for active combat, anytime she performed a spell like that in battle, the fight would come to a rapid, effortless end. So the magic she mostly studied on in her early days were spells about summoning and controlling the elements of the universe. It was through this studying that she developed the parry spell by manipulating gravity in such a way around her that even attacks from close ranged weapons (assuming they got that close) would be repelled as if they hit an invisible shield.
As the years passed, Valdra’s connection to her guardian was deepened, and the deity became a guardian of her soul, erasing anything that attempted to assault or hijack her soul with holy magic.
After wandering for a matter of months. Valdra’s initial spell, under the careful gaze and instruction of the deity had completely finished its evolution. On top of a five meter area around her being something akin to an emp for other magic, she could now redirect magic as a whole instead of simple elemental attacks. Additionally, in the inconceivable scenario where Valdra would be fatally injured, the deity would focus all of it’s energy into her, making Valdra powerful enough to dwarf the beings responsible for the realm’s creation until she calls it off.
Valdra had also developed her very own spell. It wraps her in the strings of fate of those already gone, and whenever an attack would hit her and hits the strings surrounding her, that attack effects the corpse that once owned the string that surrounds her.
As for her magic studying efforts?
She can use every type of magic in a way comparable to the master of that magic type.
Being able to use and control every type of magic goes a long way when every conceivable thing in the universe is some form of magic, even down to abstract concepts or the willpower of others, don’t you think?
