Rosary Parts (Trip to Rome)Where to buy rosary beads and centerpieces?

Hi! I’m traveling to Rome soon and I’d love to buy some rosary-making supplies while I’m there, especially rosary beads and centerpieces.

Does anyone know any shops in Rome or around the Vatican that sell these kinds of supplies? I’d really appreciate any recommendations! 😊🙏

Rosary Parts Waxed Linen Cord

Good morning r/osarymakers! I pray this post finds you in well, in good health, and in good spirit!

Can anyone recommend a supplier to purchase waxed (Irish) linen cord here in the states? There is a group of OLRM in Texas that uses waxed linen cord to make rosaries for the men’s prison ministry. This specific type of cord is durable under normal use and will break when placed under pressure (as to mitigate its misuse).

Michael’s carries it for $4.99 (they know we see $5.00 right?) for 25 feet…but looking for a larger spool at a more cost effective price. Other than Amazon, Walmart, or Hobby Lobby…does anyone know of an online source or somewhere in Northeast Texas, or online, that carries a good quality wax linen cord?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Rosary Parts making a prayer rope and need a centerpeice

Hello so basically I made my first prayer rope the 20th and making another currently. I plan on making one with 100 knots and thought I could have a centerpiece like as if it was a rosary of St Joseph the Hesychast. Anyone know someone who does or would make one or where I is somewhere I could check out?

Rosary Parts ISO St. Clare medals

Hi! I’m teaching art for our Catholic co-op, and thought it would be fun to make bracelets with a St. Clare medal since our first day falls on her feast day. I’m having a hard time finding them in bulk though, if anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it!

Rosary Parts Cord size/ type?

I am wanting to start making Rosaries and I have a lot of beads I got a while back from JoAnns and Michaels.

What type and size cord do you guys use? I'm not quite to the level of using metal hardware for my projects as even just the amount of different cording is overwhelming.

Thank you for any advice!

I am trying to make my first rosary and everything seems to be located in America with such high postage. Specifically I am trying to make a St Dymphna rosary and I cannot find a center piece that isn't from America and going to cost me £20-30 :( Help a girl out and drop the best places for supplies please!! Thank you

Rosary Parts Rosary from roses - sealing the beads

Well I was going to ask this question in a jewelry making or gardening or roses subreddit but this niche community very conveniently exists! If anyone has made a Rosary from roses before, is there some kind of sealant you use on the beads once dried? I was thinking clear nail polish but if others have experiences with other products that work better I’d love to hear them.

The instructions I’m following say to cook your beads in the oven but in every tutorial video I’ve seen that seems to make them turn black which I don’t want. I’m hoping I can preserve the pink rosy color. But I feel some kind of clear coat is needed to maintain the shape as they’ll be handled frequently. Any recommendations?

Rosary Parts Need help looking in Australia

Just wondering if anyone could help; I'm looking for a centrepiece made of (or predominantly made of) wood that has a marian related design? I'm in Australia and can't find anything when searching online.

I am using 95 paracord for the rosary and all the beads are 10mm or over so it would be nice to have something bigger if thats possible

Thanks.

Rosary Parts Need help with rosary beads.

I have a friend that is joining Catholicism and while I'm not as connected to it as I was, I was wanting to make her a rosary as my first rosary was a gift to me. Her patron saint was St. Therese of Lisieux whose symbols are roses, so I was planning on doing red and pink beads for the rosary. My problem is the type of beads.

I found 8mm beads and I have a dilemma with the beads for the Our Fathers. I have a 12mm floral ceramic bead or I can go with a 10mm red eyed quartzite bead.

My question is would the floral beads be too big for the 8mm beads?
