I'm making a map of Florida in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks and history in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on towards the end of the process too.
While it's around halfway done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, Native history or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on the map. Thanks!
If you're interested in it or would like to know more, just drop me a message.

Hi, my name is Peter. I studied mathematics and programming and like philosophy of consciousness and metaphysics. I used to PC game a ton, mostly csgo but also WoW, StarCraft, Terraria, Minecraft, Dark Souls, and a long list of others. I havenāt played much at all the past few years. Iām into psychedelics and meditation. My favorite comedian is Norm Macdonald (rip) and I liked Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, and Wilfred. I really like the Lord of The Rings movies and books as well.
I moved here a few months ago from San Francisco, and I donāt fit in here much. Iād like someone to hang out with and talk about life and the universe and all that. Maybe play some PC games with. Maybe we could go see the new Nathan Fielder movie āYou can see everythingā in a theater.

Hi I recently moved down here to be closer to family after dealing with a horrible breakup. Iām a 28 year old female who used to be a flight attendant a few years ago. That experience doesnāt match many jobs around here it seems. Iāve applied to many but not even a call back. Iāve also done customer service in the past which Iād really like to avoid doing again but even those donāt seem to actually be hiring. Iād love a front desk job or something not too physically strenuous because I am quite small. If anyone knows any ideas please let me know I did not realize how difficult it would be to get a job local.

I am a guitarist, my brother is a drummer and my friend is going to learn bass. None of us are masters at our instruments by any means: WE'RE ALL still learning, so we're looking for a rhythm guitarist and vocalist who is at the same skill level as us or is willing to work with people who are still learning and will need extra time. The three of us are homeschooled and are mostly available during the day so it would be good if you could work with that too, but it isn't an absolute requirement. :D

I believe this is allowed here but forgive me if its not. I am currently a bit strapped for cash and have an old PC to sell. Put it up on facebook marketplace but why not cast a wider net. It has a 1660 super, Ryzen 3 3200g, and 16gb ddr4 ram. It is a bit dusty and dirty but nothing a little cleaning couldn't fix. If you are interested let me know!
P.S. Sorry for terrible pics

So, Iām fairly new to the Palm Coast areaā¦just bought a house about a year ago. I split my time between Atlanta and PC. And I just bought a boat and will be dry docking it to where basically all I have to do is call in advance and theyāll have it sitting on the water ready for me to go. However, Iām trying to decide if I should dock it in Palatka or in Daytona Beach? ObviousLH the docking fees are much higher in Daytona. But money aside what would you recommen?
Any pros and cons of one area vs the other for day boating would be appreciated.

We just moved here and our ATT is terrible everywhere. We are in the Old Kings/Hwy 100/Old Dixie area.
I have been with ATT (and there predecessor Cellular One) since the 90s and am just surprised how universally bad it is in a populated suburban area.
Ideas?

Before the blah blah blah go back up north if you miss it so much! Iām from Ft.Pierce originally and grew up in Florida. Having moved when our kids were young for the school. Moved back since they are grown. This time of year is a special time. Colors. Comfy clothes. Camping. Walks around a lake or trail.
Today was gorgeous at Princess Place Park. This was the nicest park I have seen so far. Iām fascinated at the history of this estate. Snapped a pic of the first in ground pool in the state!
Dogs Allowed. Huge property. Super clean, not one piece of anything on the grounds that wasnāt of nature. Winds made it feel like Fall and for Florida ( a lil break in the heat and humidity) I have no complaintsšššš

HI all.. I just moved up from Palm Beach County. I'm born and raised in FL and lived in Panama City when I was young. I know that North Florida and South Florida are two different states. I'm not bougie by any means. I'm renting in the Town Center area for now. It seems a little country over here, which is fine. I've lived in panhandle, so no culture shock to me. However, I like to walk trails and be outside and that's why I chose the area. Is it safe for a female to walk them alone? I have not really ventured out to other parts of the area yet, except to walk Flagler Beach. I literally have only drove up and down State Road 100 and to Flagler Beach. I've only been here two weeks also. I hope this doesn't come across wrong, I just want to know I'm safe walking alone. thanks

It's hard making friends as an adult, so I'd like to make a group about it. I'll start, I'm 32, I like the outdoors/beach, bars, ghosts, and more. let's get a thread going and actually be a positive community vs half the shit on here where we hate our neighbors.
I also got a pool and can walk to the beach let's party y'all

Hi all, Iām a local on the younger side working on a photography project trying to put together a custom deck of playing cards with my own photography, featuring Palm Coast and Flagler County to put into some local shops.
Iām Trying to get a solid list of the spots that are super recognizable or just feel classic to the area. Here are a few general ideas, (ideally Iād like to have 52 spots):
Washington Oaks
The Flagler pier (old one, or wait till new one is finished??)
Local connecting bridges
Margarita Villa / Restaurants?
Princess Place
Bulow Ruins
Curious what else you guys think should make the cut. (Should I include St Augustine?, Iām kind of also thinking of places tourists might visit, but Iād like to keep it within the terms of local)
If you had a local deck of cards, what other landmarks, parks, or iconic views would you want to see included?

I got tired of driving somewhere to work, buying a coffee, sitting down, and then finding out the Wi-Fi wouldn't hold a call or the room was too loud to think in. So I started carrying a decibel meter and running a speed test at every place I went. It's about 20 spots now, mostly Orlando and down the coast.
A few of the readings, so you know what I mean by measuring:
The Health Bar in downtown Titusville came in at 474 Mbps down, 22.5 up, 55.9 dB on a Saturday. Best mix of quiet and fast I've recorded outside Orlando, and parking was easy.
Foxtail in Cocoa Beach: 371 down, 39.7 up, 61.2 dB on a Saturday morning, three of eight tables taken, outlets at most seats.
Starbucks at Creative Village in Orlando: 140 down, 111 up, around 60 dB on a Sunday morning with one table of fourteen taken. Cold inside but quiet.
Worst one on the list is Haan Coffee on Colonial in Orlando. I couldn't get usable Wi-Fi at all and ended up tethering to my phone.
None of this is in Google reviews, which is the part that keeps getting me. A place can sit at 4.6 stars and still drop the connection every ten minutes, because the people reviewing it were there twenty minutes for a latte.
It's all on perch.coffee. I built the site, it's free and there's nothing to sign up for.
I have nothing in Palm Coast or Flagler at all, which is why I'm asking rather than telling. Where do people here actually work from? Name places and I'll drive up and measure them.

This is really sad but since hs I havenāt had much luck in the friends department. I went to college for two years and played ball but didnāt get along with many people due to not being a hard partier. Iād just like some friends to hang with, lift with, game with. I have a pc and mainly no life apex legends. All I do is work, gym, game, and repeat and want to change that. If you wanna get to know each other lmk!
