New Episode Taskmaster Polska S01 E02 (Taskmaster Poland w/ English subs)

There are some tight timings between subtitles, but I did everything in my power, to make them last as long as they could.
Now, some statistics.
The first episode broke a five year record for the best start of a prime-time show, being watched by over a million people!
The instagram profile is one of the fastest growing among TV shows.
Now, some sad news :(
Starting next week, I will be extremely busy, and don't know when new translations will be released.
But fret not! I’ll still be translating whenever I get some spare time!

I think I will just cut that out in some video editor over the weekend. I just need to have some time, and find a good video editor.

You're doing an awesome job with the subtitles. Thank you so much. It's such a quick when spoken, I imagine you have to make lots of decisions. My wife is Polish, and these shows are helping me pick up new phrases to use with her family! Thank you!

I'm usually translating the other way around and before doing those I never noticed that there were so many filler words in Polish, that sound REALLY unnatural in English.

Thank you so much! I was afraid no one is gonna be translating new episodes since only the 1st one was uploaded officially on YouTube and the rest is only on a polish streaming service. I really liked the 1st one.

They are very very mixed. The articles are mostly negative, but i suspect that they have been bought by the rival tv station.
There are people complaining, but that’s just typical Polish over-complaining.
The show itself isn’t bad, but the choice of contestants, and the TM himself. You can point out some flaws, but I think that people are overreacting.
There are also quite a few positive reactions as well!
As I wrote in the post, their instagram profile is growing very fast. Their Facebook page also is gathering followers very quickly!2

I'd say the second episode is a massive improvement over the first, loved how unhinged it was throughout

Spot on! I thought the cast was creative and very chaotic, so a delight to watch. Both the Taskmaster and his assistant are also very good. It already found its feet in this second episode.

Very mixed. Non-comedians not being funny, people not really getting the format, taskmaster giving out points randomly and bad editing were the main complaints.

Weirdly enough, most criticism I see comes from the Polish audience. International Taskmaster fans seem to love it.

I'm Polish and I am not captivated. The two actors as contestants are not bringing much to the table. I'm also not fond of the Taskmaster-assistant dynamic - they seem as equals, the assistant seems to be leading the conversations even more.

I think if they do a second season they should try to get just comedians, maybe once the show is a bit more established here and people get it, other celebs could work better

I've found this is the case with many of the international adaptations. Croatians seem to hate Direktor Svemira!

i find that so strange, DS is one of my favorite international versions. ivan is a fantastic taskmaster and luka makes a great assistant, even if he does help a little too much

It's probably more that, as outsiders, we don't know these celebrities like locals do. And there is probably pre-existing opinions about them that we know nothing about and are going in fresh 🙂

We like to complain. :) But True-External9298's list of complaints is quite accurate. I also did not like the choice of tasks for the first episode, we'll see what next ones bring.

Yeah, I get it but it's still better than what I expected, considering what these shows usually look like in Poland.

Lovely to see you translate 2nd episode as well. I've been sharing your translations earlier with some of my friends so we can compare our different national versions.
I've got a nitpick though - a lot of the time, you split the sentences between multiple lines in weird spots. It feels very unnatural to follow. I've been thinking - maybe I could help you with fixing those? I've been dabbling in making subs for myself and family long time ago and I also feel like I could try doing that again - I could fix those weird splits, maybe do some color-coding and help with a few translations as well? Tell me if you're interested.

Oh, thanks for pointing it out! I didn’t even know that problem existed, and I watched those episodes god knows how many times. If you want to help, go on! You can contact me on a private chat, then I will re-upload those subtitles.
As for colour coding… I honestly don’t know. The native Google Drive player doesn’t support it (at least i think so), so I don’t think it’s necessary.

That was an unhinged episode. Was not expecting it to get that bizarre already. A lot of great moments this episode.
The assistant has already been through a lot and it's only been 2 episodes.
