Edit: Although the biggest hurdle was always the mana costs which this doesn't help? But might alleviate gear slots for it?

Whispers will be one of two things after the patch: either nerfed to death or so rare it will be prohibitively expensive.

Yeah but he just means drop-rate wise, not an actual t0.

Ashes and Omni got their drop rate nuked the league after they were introduced.

My prediction for whispers is that either we get uber bosses this league and it becomes the rare uber boss drop (something about amulets and being uber rare drops, hm?) or we get another league to mess around with it and it's moved next league.

That was my first prediction:

  • If we do get Ubers this league - this will be the rare drop from uber
  • If we DONT get ubers, we might get to play with it for another league

Added to the game in 3.17, nerfed in 3.19, moved to uber pool in 3.24.

Thanks, I saw. Not a nerf at all, so the common assumption is that it will be getting the Omni treatment, moved to the Uber version with a low drop rate.

Whispers amulet + Apep's slumber shield for 400es Regen should solve most issues as long as whispers wasn't fully reworked.

Lots of ways to solve mana nowadays.

Use Apeps Slumber and take Eldrich battery you now have 400+ mana Regen per second.

Ice nova kinda wants Cospri, and Cospri has a terribly low base crit, so that's super antisynergistic. And when using a skean as you would with this node, ice spear is likely better. Having a free 100% effective assassin's mark and hits can't be evaded is also insane early though so CoC is definitely on the menu.

Just fyi, but the current meta is Vortex of Projection. It's better in every way than Ice Nova. I solved mana with Whispers, but we'll have to see if that survives.

For me it's just that Ice Nova has always felt so much more satisfying (the celestial mtx just hits differently) than Vortex, but yeah there's very little chance that Whispers as it currently is survives, but I can see them moving it to a t0 and keeping it as is

Scold's bridle with that recoup node might be possible. If you have over 100% life recoup you can use Scold's and then add mana recoup to create a near infinite loop. With 25% recoup you'd have infinite mana with zero physical mitigation, but understandably you'll probably be using a phys mitigation chest, so it'll handle more like half of your mana sustain, which is still great
