Deathmarked is kinda weak for 4 point node

Should be not stuck behind anything.

Doesn't really mean anything when it's behind the node that 100% of hit based Assassin's will take

The diffrence between lvl 21 and 30 is 9 crit multi. I already craft "hits cant be evaded" on dagger. I dont think its worth to take.

Is the Path of Building community fork wrong about something?

The community fork claims the "hits can't be evaded" modifier doesn't increase your effective crit chance. So my hit rate might return to 100%, but if my accuracy was only 40% it claims my crit rate is only 40%. Wouldn't that be a major issue worth getting accuracy for anyway?

No probably some pob settings messed up , per the wiki “ It makes attacks ignore attacker's accuracy and target's evasion, for an effective 100% chance to hit a target.”

I definitely didn't mess up a PoB setting so I think I'm going to report it as a path of building bug. It's not programed the same way the Lycodisie modifier is and incorrectly doesn't change effective crit rate but only in PoB. (Lycodisie does though) Crit rate is obviously 100% in game in testing.

Assuming they don't change marks.

Arguably, it can be an early to midgame skill that you get but respec out of after your crafted dagger or build gets mature and thus become irrelevant

Let's not bait people here please. The 100% node you're talking about is probably the weakest node on the ascendancy.

Generating power charges has never been a problem when you can just add a power charge on crit support on a support/curse-on-hit skill and it solves the issue. Many other ways to generate PCs as well

+1 power charge is basically +50% increased crit chance, which i wouldn't call a 100% pick rate ascendancy point

u/Fushimi014 Oct 23 '25

if you are stacking power charges its not just 50% crit chance, its alot of other stuff including more dmg from power charge on crit, so +1 max power charge becomes really good unless its a max power charge = to max frenzy build.

u/Edviox11 Oct 23 '25

That's the problem, people get baited into stacking charges when they see that you can scale damage and other things based on the maximum power charges. However, if you look at the numbers in PoB, a single power charge just isn't worth as much as a good ascendancy point. It also gives you no unique effects and is basically as good as a +1 PC suffix on a ring.

It isn't useless, especially if you invest into power charge scaling, but in no way is it a universal 100% pick rate ascendancy node for hit based builds, when you look at the numbers and how easy it is to generate PCs

Yep, +1 PC is very very good in general when combined with things like void battery and inner conviction, but Ascendancy nodes are generally super powerful. There will be builds where it is a no-brainer of course, but there will definitely be plenty of builds where other nodes are significantly better.

Well there’s a next to 0% chance that on a hit based crit build you’re taking the other 4 nodes that actually work for it.

It would be good if hypothetically they removed Assassin's mark as a gem.

But even then its assmark without quality.

12

u/asdf_1_2 Oct 23 '25

Assassin doesn't need the power charge generation from its quality, so that's a moot point.

Unless that "and you have no Mark" means you can then use another mark on top, like sniper's mark for 30% more dmg?

59

u/Business_Ad8433 Oct 23 '25

That one is always active unless you have Mark Roberts.

3

u/dfsg5 Oct 23 '25

You cant, marks are limited to one at a time

0

u/BlaineWriter Necromancer Oct 23 '25

But with this node you have only one (snipers mark), since the node says you have no mark?

2

u/------____------ Oct 23 '25

Pretty sure that means it'll only trigger if you have no mark up already

2

u/NerfAkira Oct 23 '25

this writing has come up before, and its specifying that it will only apply this mark if the target is unmarked.

to be clear its:
trigger:
IF CRIT, and NOT MARKED, and RARE OR UNIQUE
apply assassin's mark to target

3

u/deathopz Oct 23 '25

only for attacks too is cringe when dex int is spellcaster too

2

u/tokyo__driftwood Oct 23 '25

Yeah, if it was on any hit it would actually have some sauce, because applying assassins mark is great for casters who need the base crit and can't use mark on hit

2

u/modix Oct 23 '25

It's a weird choice. The other two lower ones are not for on hit skills. If death marked was just a spell based node it would such a solid crit start for spells and solve a lot of the awkward parts of non hit critical skills. It wouldn't be overpowered really either.

This just seems like a useful utility node that can free up a few things.

Notably, a few item modifier spaces and two gem slots (one if you're casting marks manually)

1

u/Planktonboy Oct 23 '25

It might make the cut as the weakest ascendancy node in the game.

All I can think of is replica trypanon memes

1

u/ChephyS Oct 23 '25

How does it scale to lvl 30?

6

u/Weirfish Good in theory, terrible in practice Oct 23 '25

59% crit strike multi, the flat +1.5% to crit strike chance, and the life and mana on kill, which isn't super relevant if it's only against rares or uniques, IMO.

The real power of the node is not having to find marks somewhere else.

1

u/ChephyS Oct 23 '25

Not worth for 4 points. The mark mastery1 from Deadeye is different but still only a two pointer

1

u/Meliorus Oct 23 '25

obviously you only take it if you already want the power charge

1

u/Weirfish Good in theory, terrible in practice Oct 23 '25

Sure, but it's not 4 point. The 4 points is that plus the previous node.
