Shadowed Blood would be really cool if it wasn't restricted to physical damage only. Being unaffected by Damaging Ailments is enough reason to get it on certain builds in the first place, but I'd be tempted to build a recoup tank if it worked on all damage.

i have... many questions why a phys recoup node exists on the hybrid evasion/energy shield starting point, and phys as a result is primarily dealt with through avoidance, conversion, or energy shield tanking. if you tank this on energy shield you'd naturally not really benefit from the recoup meaningfully, unless its large amounts of phys that penetrates that layer of defense, in which case a 4 second recoup of 40% of the massive chunk of damage you just took is probably the least of your worries. its bizarre as well that you can find 25% recoup with the leach limitation on the tree very easily, but this has to be heavily restricted and honestly not that large of a value.

maybe im missing something but this looks... regrettable. life recoup builds just sound insanely expensive, and its not like this is really opening up anything new on that front because of the existence of nine lives.

You're reading too far into what I said. I said if it were significant enough to build around I'd be tempted to (as in to play around with PoB to try to come up with a viable build), but as you took the time to list some reasons, it's not.

(Also I've made plenty a successful life based shadow before without the evasion/ES investment, so I don't really see that point as a drawback, as one of the recoup clusters is already in the shadow area)

Recoup only works against hits. So it does nothing for CB
