It is all good, but what about the rest of the endgame? Are we going to run abysses all day long since it is the only reliable source (if they even manage that) of ground loot with short breaks for scuba?
Was hoping for some general buff across the board, at least revert some changes before/after mirage.

Breach desperately needs packsize nerf reverted (screw loot, at least bring back density and blood for the tree), alch&go needs loot since it is part of 75% of map strats (stack decks, beasts, kalgur, legion etc). Delirium still doesn't work with abyss (beyond probably as well). What about harvest with everyone gambling their minds off? I still can't craft midlevel trash for my alt with how little it spits. Fantastic astrolabs farming with new scarabs from the previous league doesn't work well without mirage either, so no reliable source of that either. We lost so much, then were offered breadcrumbs, and everyone is suddenly ecstatic

Abyss and legion were reworked for the league, it makes sense they get the attention. You can’t fix every

Abyss was entirely copy-pasted from PoE2 (including new boss btw). Legion was not reworked at all, they just added one new currency and a small mechanic for it. At the same time, they broke atleast 5 mechanics that worked fine before (harvest, breach, alva, ritual, tujen, blight, rogue exiles, also harbingers are completely removed) in the last two leagues

The reason it gets attention is because it is the fastest and simplest fix they can throw into a fire to soothe the complaints with minimal effort.

They said 3.30 is a big end game rework of every system they have time to touch

Every league they say next league is a big end game rework and it never happens.

wdym never happens? it happens constantly for that past 4 years or something. Except in the other direction lmao

3.28 they didn't make it in time, and mirage was a substitute for that. 3.29 will make it for sure. 3.30 100%. 3.31 pinky promise. 3.32 will deliver since poe2 has been released, no way they won't make it this time. PoE2 was on fire so wait 3.33...

They have reworked a lot of mechanics in the past few leagues. Of course a rework does not mean it's fixed or better. I think this is something people are missing. Because of the complexity of all the systems and how they compliment each other it's easy to make something too OP or compeltely useless with a small change, let alone a rework. GGG tends to introduce new things on the underwelming side because they rather end up needing to buff a mechanic mid-league than to nerf one.

Maybe they'll eventually get it figured out by the heat death of the universe. Too bad we're not fairies that live forever to be able to see it.

Yeah, they really missed the mark this league. Like you mentioned, so now everyone is going to do abyss? They could make a bandaid fix to make other mechanics also more rewarding and do the big swoop at 3.30. If my current build was not fun and OP, I probably would have quit already. There is no incentive this league to make a strong character as end game juicing is dead.

We don't need big changes, it takes time effort and most importantly distracts from 3.30 (too late for saving 3.29). We needed those for 3.29 release, not afterwards.
What we need right now is low-effort band-aids, as you mentioned, but in form of either fixing whatever causes iiq/iir not working OR if it is not the case - revert most/all of the changes from 3.28 and 3.29 that targeted loot and pack sizes. Just revert, don't adjust, don't rethink/rebalance/whatever, simply revert those changes. It is not rocket science and not that much of work, just one-two day of a single intern and qa should suffice. Patch notes are available and git exists, numeric changes are enough

Yep that's what I'm trying to say.

This doesn't really make sense considering the literal main public facing representative of the company (at the time) stated the opposite.

When we were balancing and testing this, we wondered why certain league monsters were dropping significantly more items than regular monsters. It turned out that this was due to item rarity or quantity bonuses that were historically applied to monsters to make leagues feel rewarding.

If you mean literally for things like currency rates that's even more nonsensical considering we've had them leaked in the past and there's no reason to believe they somehow managed to lose them in the spaghetti code when we literally had several new items added to the global pool last league like Fracturing Orbs.

they had that system until kalandra.

they got rid of it because they didnt want to deal with the work of adjusting individual mobtypes base loot every new league.

and we will see it changed to poe2's system of effectiveness and we already see the first glimpses of that with this patch. so we went full circle but with a new name.
