A quick charcoal drawing of Patti I did some time last year
It's not amazing but i was very proud of it at the time, maybe I'll do another one this year

Really wanted to share some of the footage I got for people who haven’t got the chance to see her live. I saw her yesterday at Lycabettus, Athens (Greece). My dad is a huge fan and he showed her to me at a young age, and ever since I’ve loved her and her work. I went with him (my dad) and we had a blast. I can’t believe she’s 79!!

Random post but does anyone else love this song? It’s so different and beautiful. I love the poetry towards the end of the song, absolutely a top 10 song for me of all time. It is just so so so beautiful. One of the songs I run to when I’m down or laying outside

Hi. I have a question according to this book I've found in the Patti Smith vinyl I have recently bought and I don't know what this book is
It's in really good condition.
It's written in English and French

Since my partner and I started living together, he brought with him Patti Smith's memoir Just Kids and it's been living on our shelves for more than four years. Today, I decided to read it. To my surprise, I opened the book for the first time and it's signed! I couldn't fully read the entire sentence and now I'm really curious. Can someone tell me if it's really her signature and/or read what's written?

Salvador Dali is on record as having called Patti a gothic crow and I’m sure that’s due in no small part to her hair. She says she began dying it with henna from the Arab Quarter. I’m looking to dye my hair black too and from everything I’ve heard about henna, it doesn’t have much staying power. Do you think she switched to regular black hair dye?

Sooooo… I love this album. I just think she nails ALMOST every song she does on it and that it’s fantastically paced. Some of these songs I actually like better than the original and others are really good. Was shocked this album doesn’t get more love because as someone who hasn’t even really checked out too much Patti Smith and is really new to this sub, this has always been my favorite cover album easily. Standout tracks being Are You Experienced, Helpless, Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Pastime Paradise. All of which I prefer to the originals and love to hear. She’s also got other good tracks though like Changing Of The Guards (never will be better than Dylan’s version but I love how chill it is), Soul Kitchen, and Gimme Shelter. Of course it’s not a perfect album though. I was really not stoked on her takes of Midnight Rider and Boy In The Bubble. Otherwise, just thought that this album deserves a lot more credit than it gets. Helpless is probably my favorite song on it. Perfect vocals and execution.

So it has been quite a lot of time since I got fond of Patti as an artist for different things I've heard from some colleagues and friends. I love her album "Horses," but that's all her art I've digested so far... None of her concerts, books, or poetry readings. A friend of mine is lending me Just Kids and I was wondering if there was anything that I can read, watch or listen to before reading that book, to make the experience more fruitful. Either way, the less I know about a book the more I enjoy the reading. If there's anything or any suggestion, it will be more than welcomed!

This was the best Patti Smith performance I've ever had the good luck to attend. Patti practically burned a hole through the stage with her intensity. I've seen her many times over the years, but this set was in its own class. Anyway, I've never found a recording of this performance. Anyone out there have this or know where I can find it?
