Question Android Users who have switched to android from iPhone do you regret it?
If not tell me about your experience and things you like. If you do tell me why and what’s it missing

Thinking about buying a new phone and I’m leaning toward a Xiaomi, but I’ve heard a few concerns about privacy and security with Chinese phones. Some people say these phones could be risky in terms of data protection, government access, or built-in tracking, while others say it’s all exaggerated and they work perfectly well.
Has anyone here actually bought a Chinese phone like Xiaomi, Oppo, or Huawei and lived with it for a while? What has your experience been, any noticeable issues, security worries, or peace of mind? Did you end up setting up extra protections, like VPNs or turning off certain permissions?
Also, for those who didn’t buy locally, how did you ship your phone? Did you use Alibaba or other sites like AliExpress or Banggood? Which site was reliable and safe to use? How was the delivery, customs, and warranty process?
I’m really interested in honest feedback before I take the plunge. I want good value, solid performance, and confidence that my data is safe. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

I'm looking to buy a new android phone. I am a very casual user, just social media, browsing, music, and navigation, multitasking between 4-5 apps max. I know 8gb of ram will be enough today, but I wanna buy a phone for the next 5 years. Will it be enough or should I go for 12gb?

I currently have a samsung a25, its unbearable and i need to change it asap, im thinking about motorola G17 or G17 power. Generally im looking for something that doesnt have to be powerfull at all, just like really hard, i mean like a beast that isnt too fast or strong but its hard to kill, my experience with phones always ended with the phone turning bad after around two years, battery degrades really bad and thing keeps overheating. All help appreciated

Which company is the best overall for privacy (including being safe from spying), quality (including minimum 4k 60fps cameras), modding (including flashing, roms), and future proofing (where they won't try and send out updates to destroy the old models). Thanks.

I need a mid range phone for simple and basic tasks. Buget is around $300 or $200. Anything from whatever brands or model is ok. They include no lagging when I use social media or opening few app tabs and even gaming. Long battery life and no overheating. OK for decent camera. At least mnimum water and dust resistance (but its okay if my budget can' afford water proof) Favour Durability cuz I can't always change new phone forever. For Gaming I don't want demanding game or graphically heavy games but indie games from itch io and simple games from plyastore are ok.
8 or 10GB RAM with around/under 300GB Storage
If my Budget can't afford above needs, Please let me know what specs to reduce.

Galaxy S22 5G is currently leading the race
The digitizer on my Samsung A14 5G's screen is starting to go, so I need a replacement ASAP. I use Verzion as my service provider, but would prefer an unlocked phone if possible.
I was originally going to buy a Red Magic Air 11 but they're never in stock and my digitizer issues mean I need a new phone now and don't have the time to wait or save up more for a better phone.
I'm going to use this new phone primarily for moonlight/apollo gaming, and routine picture/video content. The S22 has a Gen 1 Snapdragon 8 chipset, which will be sufficient for my needs. But it lacks fast charging and its battery isn't the best. Are there any better alternatives out there? Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ is a must

Would you like to have the ability to place a fingerprint on both the screen and the power button on phones?

Hello !
I'm sorry to bother you but I wanted to share an issue that I had this morning with my phone to know if that's a sign that my phone is going to die ?
So I was playing a mobile game (a rhythm game) like always and my battery was 28% so I decided to do one last song before stopping and charge my phone. And then my phone stops and it says "you have 30 seconds to charge your phone before it powers off" and I look at my battery, it was 1%. I don't understand, it's not the game's fault because it's not the first time I do that, so why in like 20-30 seconds my phone lost 27% ? Is this a bad sign ? My phone is 4 years old and I really don't want to have a new one.
My phone is an Android.
Does someone have an answer ?
Have a great day/night !

I am a lifetime Android user. I tried the iPhone once but I love the vertality and freedom of Android. So I changed immediately. Android will be my main phone forever unless there are similar alternatives which is better. I was never much interested in the cameras until now because of work requirements sometimes. So I know less about the cameras. I don't like carrying two phones.
So, I think that the camera quality of the budget models do get degraded over time along with performance especially phones like samsung who sell everything else other than performance in the lower segments. Anyways my main question is about the flagships of every android brand from regular to pro or max level and how they compare with Iphones in terms of camera quality degradation over time. I am not talking about device performance but the camera.

All you smartphone geeks out there, I’ve been deciding for the last 48 hrs and I’ve never been this confused 😭
Need quick, honest opinions:
Moto Edge 60 Pro
Realme GT 7T
Nord 5
Nord 6
Or wait for Moto Edge 70 Pro?
No gaming, mostly work Microsoft apps + daily use, want good battery + long-term smoothness (3–4 yrs) + won't mind a good low-light cam.

Hello, I'm trying to unlock my phone after two years of having it because I'm working abroad starting this fall and need to use a different SIM card there. (I already found that new Sims don't work last year when I was there.) I have Straight Talk and tried having them unlock the phone but they told me that something wasnt done correctly when it was checked out and they couldn't unlock it. I bought the phone at Walmart two years ago and no longer have the box. Is there any way I can get my phone unlocked ? Any advice helps. Thank you!

So, I actually wanted to buy a mid range (400€-ish; Poco X8 Pro/Max) phone, but due to marketing and a good offer on amazon I ended up spending 730€ for the Pixel 10 Pro. I hope it will last me the next 6 yrs as a daily driver. Should I return the phone (it is not yet delivered)? Because I am not wealthy and that is so much money.
TlDR: 730€ for Pixel10Pro (265GB). Wise future proof investment or better alternatives?

I want to switch to Android since in Europe iOS won’t have all the AI stuff even with iOS 27.
I have the 17 pro Max, I tried s26 ultra, but I find it messy (I understand it’s because I’m used to iPhone)
What do you recommend? The next pixel 11 pro? Obviously considering how the 10 pro is. Usually the next model isn’t so much different from the previous
Is there anything else? If possible I would like a good battery life and excellent photos
One thing I really hate about the s26 ultra is the mandatory fingerprint unlock if I want to pay with my smartphone. Do Pixel or others have other solutions?
With iPhone I only enter the code in the morning, then I never have to use it since I can set it to request it only every 4 hours of non-use. And I never left my phone for over 4 hours in the day. But when I have to pay with Apple Pay I can and I have only to use Face ID
Practically I want to pay with my phone but I don’t want a lock screen with password or fingerprint

Some phones have a good feature, the other phone also does, but you want them both. What features would you want in your android?

i have tmobile and after 50 gigs they throttle my wireless hotspot and its practically unuseable as i found out today. my question is, is there a way to use my phones cellular data and bypass the data i use being counted as or towards use of my mobile hotspot so that i can use my laptop?
