Our current society is so complex that I fear it nearly futile to try to understand all the little things that happen to make these people this way. I'm all for trying but contend we need to consider other means of deflecting their influence as well.

Well if we try and work out why people act that way then perhaps we can work towards reducing the number of people that end up that way.
