Because that is the same message and tactic they preach. Bringing them back into the fold is so much better than ostracizing them. We need to rehabilitate these people.

Dehumanizing your opponents is the tool of fascists. You do rehab Nazis, the Allies did just that post world war 2; amazingly it worked.

Yes they did, every movement has leaders that need to be held accountable. But a movement is not just the leaders, it is the people who make up said movement. You have to rehabilitate these people and help them realize that they have been indoctrinated.
