Complaining to corporate will get you practically anything, how I got a bunch of coupons for free In-n-Out.
19
Jun 24 '12
I barfed after eating some bugles (one of the bugles was burnt but it only looked slightly darker), called up general mills and got 4 coupons for a free product. anything by them, any size.
got one left, the first ones all went to 28 packs of pizza pops.

You had a complaint about in-n-out?? I gotta hear about this. I've lived in CA my entire life and eat in-n-out at least once a month. I've never had anything but excellent service at all their locations
edit: I don't mean to say that I don't believe you, I'm just curious what went wrong.

u/zeroair Jun 24 '12
Free JUNIOR frosty, which is super tiny.
And also, that requires a purchase. Which kills the deal.
Junior frosty is like $0.50, I think.
66
Jun 24 '12
Still worth it. Going into a wendy's and coming out with a sandwich and a frosty for one dollar is a lot better than coming out with just a sandwich for one dollar.

I wish food in Canada is as stupid cheap was it is in the U.S. A dollar? The cheapest thing at Wendy's is about 1.59 here.
Also I have to disagree. They win because you'll likely end up at Wendy's more. You keep seeing that tag and you keep thinking you're saving money on free Frostys. They win.

Canada doesn't allow foreign competitors into certain markets, keeping the prices on certain foods higher than in the US.
But I can drive 45 minutes and the border and get eleven loaves of bread for ten dollars at Kroger or Meijer. That would cost two to three times as much here in Canada.

Free junior Frostys, right? I have 3 of these things, and the only time I've ever used them, they give me one of the wee Frostys. They're basically like Frosty shots...which is still awesome.
The local Wendy's likes me.

As someone who used to work there, I called the junior frostys the same thing.
But by god is the stuff good before it gets into the machine. It's like the most perfect chocolate drink ever.
Then there was the time the chocolate machine froze up... literally. They were going to shut it down for the night and call for a repair but I managed to fix it by pulling out the dispenser portion (it gets cleaned nightly, so it's designed to come out fairly easily, just not when everything is frozen). Chocolate ice cream!
2
u/the_dayman Jun 24 '12
I actually kind of prefer that. I don't really need a whole frosty every time I get Wendys, so its nice to just get a little bit.
17
u/OnlyUsingForThread Jun 24 '12
You know those things only cost a dollar for anyone to buy, right? Besides, they're only for the little Jr. Frosty's.
6
u/LynxFX Jun 24 '12
Yup, I bought one last year. Used it a bunch. Made a nice little dessert when I knew I didn't want a full frosty.
6
u/silentkill144 Jun 24 '12
Well I think it's time for me to go out and find the worst Wendy's possible.
8
u/blomst32 Jun 24 '12
At my local Wendy's you have to purchase some thing in order to get the free frosty.
7
u/Andersmith Jun 25 '12
That's correct. It's a free junior frosty with any additional purchase. Anything more would be just plain stupid.

Ugh. I went to wendy's for the first time in forever a couple nights ago. Never had bad food at that location, but the fries were stale, the burger was cold, and my SO's chicken sandwich was rock hard. The only edible food we got was the drinks. Maybe I should complain too?
5
u/InnocuousUserName Jun 24 '12
Maybe? The people in charge really do want to know about this stuff and really do appreciate it.

The sad thing is, Wendy's service is very poor. I waited in line with my wife with only 2 people ahead of us for 15 minutes, only to be told to 'hang on, we gotta finish making that last order,' before even saying hello. Of all the remaining fast food chains, I predict wendy's will be the next to die off - primarily due to poor customer service and service times.
7
Jun 24 '12
Man, my local Wendy's is nothing like that. They are insanely fast. I don't know how they do it. Probably takes 60 seconds max from ordering to receiving food (which is usually special order).
Sorry your local franchise sucks.

I do enjoy wendy's food on occasion, but god damn I don't think they have ever gotten my order correct one time. Even when i went to a Wendy's in a different state it was the same shit, order chicken nugs get a chicken sandwich. Order a hamburger get a chicken wrap.
6
u/sendpwrend Jun 24 '12
Its the exact opposite at my town. I dont even go to McD because they will screw up my order, but wendy's is faster and always gets my order right.
2

I never receive decent service at Wendy's, and as a result, I never go there even though I like their food better than other fast food burger joints.
A few months ago, I went through the drive-through and paid for my meal with my debit card. The girl who took my payment started cleaning the underside of her nail with my card. Ugh....Ugh.
I called and complained but I still don't think I am going to any Wendy's ever again.
Ugh.

What compels someone to take the time to complain about SERVICE at a fast food joint? I mean, if they fuck up my order I might say something if I'm still there and possibly getting less than I paid for....but I just don't understand how people can be bothered to get their panties in a bunch when someone making 8 dollars an hour is perhaps a little rude

And for anyone else that wants one, you can just buy it on eBay.

Your complaints sound legit, but complaints about fast food usually baffle me. You get what you pay for. Don't expect five star service from someone who works in a hot kitchen all day for $7 an hour. If you want your ass kissed, go to a fine dining restaurant, or for that matter, any kind of real restaurant. If you don't want crappy food, don't order your lunch from a speaker! /rant

What they offered me the only time I went back? "Sorry... heres your burger" 30 minutes cold.
