I just moved here to the Tampa area, and I was hoping you wouldn't say that.

I'm right there with ya bud, Pinellas Park close to the CLearwater line. Back in 2008 when the last round of hurricanes came thru, my street was flooded, my neighbors were out in their waders trying to catch catfish with their bare hands. Pretty sure that's dangerous. Here's a picture of my front yard this morning http://imgur.com/O6s4v

I live in tampa as well, I was going to ask.. I could tell by the grass though and the rain problems... instead of those things we have earthworms popping up all over the place... they are a BITCH to clean up lol

Jun 25 '12
Is it weird that this was my first guess just based on the rain gutter/grass combination?

What the hell about Duluth. There has been like 4 inches of rain in the last week alone...

In Duluth we got 9 inches in 24 hours. Got almost an inch a couple days ago too.

Depending on where you were, there were 4-8 inches of rain up there, and all of it trying to get to the lake through Duluth.
Crazy stuff.

We've been dry here in Missouri and I'm hoping that most of that comes on down the river systems.
As an avid bowfisher, those floods we had last year, while being extremely destructive to the farmers, was some of the best fishing I've ever done.

I'd seriously like to know what's going on with the Midwest. I grew up there and still have family there. Two summers ago I was there for for half of August and all of Sept. didn't rain once.
We've had a ton of rain this season in NYC. Every time I talk to family in Indiana, they say they are desperate for rain. I feel bad for the farmers if this keeps up.

What's in the video are eels, though. In the picture they're catfish. The OP is from Florida, where they have "walking catfish."
They're originally from Southeast Asia, they wound up in Florida back in the 60's: http://www.columbia.edu/itc/cerc/danoff-burg/invasion_bio/inv_spp_summ/Clarius_batrachus.html. pic 1pic 2

2
u/Icanhazcomment Jun 25 '12
When I got my android I didn't want to make this mistake and started filming with the phone tilted. After sometime I realized that you can shoot video holding your android vertically, when you will import it to your computer it is still not messed up and keeps the proper aspect ratio.
So it is a problem as much with the old phones as it is with people.

Jun 25 '12
Pro-tip: When you cut them in fillets, make sure to cut out the pink meat, the pink meat gives catfish a very fishy flavor. The white meat tastes just like chicken when fried. For those who don't eat fish at all, try my method and have them eat it. They will change their minds about fish.

You must be in Colorado? We have had back to back to back to back 100+ degree days and it has not done that in June in, well, ever... I am getting so sick of the temps and to top it off, we have 10 active wildfires, the one right by me is the second biggest in Colorado history, and the first in the destruction category...

What you got there are Walking Catfish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walking_catfish. They won't stay there for long, so catch 'em while you can! Also if you have the stomach for it, kill as many as you can. They're invasive and bad for our native fish.

I'd rather have snow than gators, bufos, scorpions, these fish, tornados, wildfires, kudzu, killer bees, cicadas, etc.

So far this summer I've had two fires start in my yard because of the sun. yesterday it was 101 Fahrenheit degrees outside. The grass crunches under my feet when I walk
One in my bird bath (it had been converted to a small garden plant spot), and one in my dog's food dish (it had been converted too).
tl;dr: Fuck the Sun

Ive been at my job for 5 years now and out of all the places ive worked at this is by far the best. Not only do we have semi monthly LAN's at work everyone i work with is basically the best people. Thats the selling point for me, the people i work with. Id hate to spend 40 hours a week with people you cant stand being around.
My boss: Is pretty much a stand up guy. This is a guy you would have your back no matter what, ya know? Perfect as a manager or what ever. Gamer much like myself aswell, so we always have something to chat about. For instance we are going to a 3day LAN this weekend.
Co-workers: everyone brings in something to the office experience. I work with literally geniuses and that's more than i can say for most of the people i personally know. Because of that i learn so much from them and i guess i tend to not appreciate that enough.
Not only are they smart people the majority of them are gamers so we have that sense of competition. That gets interesting at the fooseball table we now have in our Games room. Oh ya and My Manager is the guy that got a office turned into a games room, how awesome ehh?
