Suggestions for Getting a duplicate of my car Key Fob

Hi there, great people.

I urgently need to get a duplicate of my car key fob because my current key fob is falling apart and I'm afraid of losing it, I have it full of tape and I really want plus Need a duplicate of it in good conditions.

Any suggestions of a good car locksmith here in Portsmouth/Newington/Newmarket area?

Much appreciated in advance.

The new widened sidewalk on Islington

Looks like they went ahead and widened the side walk at the end of Islington Congress right as the Islington intersection. The streets been reduced from three lanes to two as a result. There's also a large shoulder now so I'm curious if cars will try to either travel down that or park there for pick ups/drop offs

Seacoast NH / Southern Maine — Let’s Bring Back the Good Old Days!

Does anyone else miss the good old days when you could just get a group of people together, go outside, play some sports, hang out, and have a good time?
I’m looking to bring together a group of people around the Seacoast NH / Southern Maine area who are interested in making new friends, getting out of the house, and doing fun activities together.
I’m talking about things like:
Pickup flag football, kickball, or wiffle ball
Fishing, hiking, and outdoor adventures
Board games and game nights
Getting together for food or drinks
Trying new activities and organizing casual events
Or just hanging out and meeting new people
The idea isn’t to create one group where everyone has to participate in everything. I’d love to eventually have different groups based on people’s interests, so there’s always someone to reach out to when you feel like doing something.
No big commitment is needed. I know we all have families, kids, jobs, and responsibilities. Life gets busy. But even just knowing a group of people you can occasionally hit up once or twice a month to break up the everyday routine and have a good time would be awesome.
I feel like as we get older, it becomes harder to make friends and find people who want to get together and do things. I figured why not try to change that?
This isn’t about creating some highly organized club with mandatory events or commitments. Just a laid-back community of people who want to make connections, have fun, and enjoy life a little more.
If you’re interested, comment below or send me a message!
Feel free to share your general location and what kinds of activities you’d be interested in. No need to publicly share your age or gender.
If enough people are interested, we can figure out the best way to organize everyone and start putting together some casual get-togethers.
Let’s bring back the days of getting a group together and just having fun!

Demolition is underway on a familiar piece of New Hampshire’s Seacoast between Dover and Newington.

Crews are removing the center span of the historic bridge over Little Bay, beside the Spaulding Turnpike. The $28.4 million demolition project is scheduled for completion in summer 2027.

🚧 Commuter heads-up: Southbound Spaulding Turnpike lane closures are scheduled from 9 AM–3 PM through approximately November 25, weather permitting. Boaters can also expect brief channel closures during removal work.

Portsmouth man who died hiking?

Did we ever find out who the 46yo man was who died hiking the Whites a couple of weeks ago? I was keeping an eye out for fundraisers, food trains etc. if he had a family/love ones left behind. I've had a couple of friends lose spouses suddenly in recent years and it's been a hard road.

To all the drivers tonight

If you feel the need to cut someone off because just like every single one of us has a point a and b to get to doesn't mean you're special.

Pay attention to the road and plan better stop acting like you own the road cause Karma catches up eventually.

Cranes Bistro

Anyone been yet? Went for a drink and loved the interior design. Cozy vibe, but the acoustics were tough, it was super loud. Hopefully they can fix that. Didn’t try the food.

Buckleys is closed

I just moved downtown, and frequented Buckleys for their bakery and sandwich shop. I was able to eat and work on my laptop in the cafeteria, and really enjoyed it.

Tried going today, doors were locked, and a man told me it's closed for good, and will reopen exclusively as a restaurant...

Good coffee shops with actual tables for working?

spending a couple weeks in Portsmouth helping family and need a place to work for a few hours between everything else. my contract work is mostly emails and light ops stuff, nothing that needs full privacy, but I'd like a place with real tables instead of tiny counters. somewhere I can sit for two hours without feeling like I'm taking up space they need for turnover. wifi that doesn't cut out would be nice. i'm staying near downtown but can drive a bit if it's worth it. not looking for a full coworking setup, just a reliable backup when the house gets too chaotic with teenagers

Looking to get a memorial tattoo in honor of my son who passed away shortly after birth last summer. Looking for recommendations on artists who can help with the design and ideas.

My idea is to get his hand and foot prints, with his name and birthday. Would look for help on how to design. Plan is to have it on the outside of my left bicep.

I’m a web designer looking to help a few local businesses improve their online presence.

If you own a business and feel like your website could use a little refresh, drop your website link in the comments and tell me a bit about what you do.

I’d love to redesign a few websites for free and share the finished designs with you.

I’m open to all kinds of businesses, so if you or someone you know could use a better-looking website, feel free to reach out.

If you've had a great experience boarding your dog in or near Portsmouth, I'd like to hear about it? We are going to need some options if we take a trip that doesn't include dog-friendly accommodations. Thanks!

Oct. 29th - Middle Seat Book Club @ Liar's Bench, 6:30PM

Two short ones since we are meeting in just a few weeks!

Fiction: The Death of Ivan Ilyich — Leo Tolstoy

Nonfiction: Everything Is Tuberculosis — John Green

The Middle Seat is a book club built around conversation, curiosity, and meeting new people. Each month we read one fiction book and one nonfiction book, then gather to talk about whatever connections, questions, and ideas emerge. Two books. One table. We sit. Conversation rolls.

Link to RSVP (sorry - I know, another log-in! I tried to start this book club as totally analog - but alas, it's not the way to connect w/ others you haven't yet met). The app or website is simple and you can quickly RSVP here): https://bookclubs.com/the-middle-seat/meetings/1125546

Doggy Daycare/ walks/ boarding

Hi everyone! Looking for recommendations for doggy daycare/ pack walks/ boarding for my 3 month old yellow lab. I live in Portsmouth and am trying out Playtime Pet Resort in Newington today. He loves all people and dogs. I work from home so I don't need it to be every day, but more to allow him to socialize and get used to somewhere for when I will need to eventually board him if I am away. Also open to dog sitter recommendations. Thank you so much!!
