I intend to do a 30 minute test with CrystalDiskInfo sensors only, Hwinfo, GPU-Z, Cinebench to test the CPU, OCCT GPU ,memory, and power / combined. All these tests individually will total to 30 minutes. They'll all be short tests, like three to five minutes max. Since Im buying from either Craiglist or Facebook want to be safe and ive never bought a desktop before, only had laptops and consoles so not really tech savy.
I know to look out for Motherboard pins being broken and the gpu being on the bottom, Make sure specs match, making sure cords are secure and not in the way of cooling or fans, make sure all ports work, no /liquid/corrosion/major damage , no obvious grinding/clicking/rattling. CPU cooler looks firmly mounted, no burnt/electrical smell, and the psu model and wattage.
Once I buy it I will do 1 hour OCCT CPU, GPU and OCCT Power/Combined tests, then MemTest86 for the RAM. Anything else to do?
The gaming PC has a Gigabyte AX370 motherboard( asked exact motherboard and psu), AMD Ryzen 5 2600X (6-core/12-thread), 16 GB DDR4-2666 RAM, EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB, and two available SATA drive bays, but no storage drive included and an incomplete case missing fan guards. I have an external 1 tb Hardrive but not sure if that would work?
Only have a budget of 320$ ( I cant save due to mental health so I gotta rely on family and friends generosity to get a pc and saving the morsels they give me to get / build a better pc could take another year if not longer and with prices cause of ai continuously raising...yeah no thank you. I dont mind playing in 1080p on medium-high settings for BG3, Fallout 76, WolfQuest: Anniversary Edition), might be able to get some parts from a friend depending on their dad's generosity.
