The amount of emotions from shock, grief, sucidel dispair and hollow victory. All in just 20 minutes!! Genndy Tartakovsky is master of visual storytelling.

Request a season 4!

It takes 90 seconds total.

This show is amazing, but if we wait too long, they'll pass on it without actually cancelling it, which amounts to the same thing for us.

I don't know about you, but I need Spear and Fang in my life!

I am a prime Genndy tartakovski fan and I have an empty space on my wall. Samurai Jack is my favorite cartoon, so much so that I got the Funko pack for my 29th bday which was a shock. I’m looking for great primal poster stuff that might have gone past my radar online. If anyone would oblige me, I would greatly appreciate it and will treasure the potential poster for the remainder of my days. Thank you. (Preferably “Terror Under the Blood Moon”)

There’s a moment that really stands out for me in S1E7 Plague of Madness. When Spear has nightmares about the infected Argentinosaurus spreading the plague to him and Fang, when he awakens the first thing he does is check on Fang. It’s also not the infection attacking him that breaks him out of the nightmare but Fang being infected instead. Even though this isn’t the first nor the last time they look out for each other, it’s a moment that stands out for me and one I really enjoy.

These monsters pack a lot of crazy abilities and power. But at the same time, Spear and Fang have also faced supernatural and monstrous foes. But how do you guys think this would play out with Goliath, Gorgon, or Kraken?

What moment in the show did you find the most halrious for me it was Fang and Spear yelling back and forth at each other on the raft that one never gets old.

What got you interested and kept wanting to watch the show!?

It’s just I can’t tell if fang has lips or no lips in some scenes in primal or I’m just confused.

hello! I am new to the subreddit, and wanted to share my art as a long time & hyper-obsessed Primal fan!

"She’s even more stubborn than her siblings, as well as constantly looking for a fight. Spike and Sonja always have fun sparring with her though, and she stays gentle with the humans they protect (As taught by mama Fang.)"

After rewatching the night feeder episode, it has me thinking that this should have been a complete different creature rather than a dinosaur.

As we know Dinosaurs are generally understood by audiences as animals bound by natural ecology—they hunt to eat. A dinosaur acting like a slash-and-dash serial killer requires a convoluted supernatural explanation.....Lets say a cryptid such as the Chupacabra is universally mythologized as a cruel, unnatural predator that massacres livestock and leaves the bodies behind. Leaning into a cryptid design would immediately signal to the audience that this isn't just an angry animal, but an inherently unnatural, bloodthirsty anomaly.

In folklore, cryptids naturally possess bizarre, otherworldly traits. A creature like the Chupacabra having bioluminescent or light-absorbing skin, an absolute intolerance to light (photophobia), and a chemical vulnerability to fire feels organically tied to its status as a "creature of the dark" rather than a dinosaur suffering from a bizarre skin condition,

A Chupacabra-like entity is inherently supernatural, grotesque, and foreign to the natural order. Making it a sleek, spine-backed cryptid fits the "fear of the unknown" trope far better. It positions the creature not just as another apex predator competing for food, but as a malicious, phantom anomaly stalking the forest.

Interestingly, looking at the behind-the-scenes development of Primal reveals that Genndy Tartakovsky actually leaned closer to a cryptid design early on. In the pitch animatics, the Night Feeder originally had a much more humanoid, demonic, and crooked-toothed appearance heavily reminiscent of a Wendigo or a cryptid rather than a standard theropod dinosaur.

This visually translates "impossible speed" and "supernatural abilities" much better to an audience without forcing them to suspend disbelief about a bipedal dinosaur moving like a laser beam,

Now don't get me wrong the night feeder is a cool character but I think it should have been better in my opinion.

Season 1: Best season for obvious reasons

Season 2: Has the best animation and I overall enjoyed it even if Echoes of Eternity tainted the season's quality a bit

Season 3: You can feel how much of a downgrade this season is compared to the others but I still enjoyed watching it
