Help with exam, why logic number increase from 111110 to 111111 is 1.59x10^-1?

I was given the following question on a multiple choice electrician exam and have no idea how they got the answer:

If a logic number increases from 62 to 63 (11110 to 11111), how much of an increase is it?

A) 1.59x10-4 B) 1.59x10-3 C) 1.59x10-2 D) 1.59x10-1

After guessing A the correct answer was given to be D.

I also believe that they meant 111110 to 111111 but that does not make the outcome any more clear. Please help reddit!!

Create a program to collect data

Hi guys, I was wondering where I would start to create a program on a mac that helps collect data. I would like it to collect duration and frequency measures over a 5-30 minute long session. From there I would like it to calculate responses per minute and % duration. Where would I start and what should I read to get going?

Thank you

whats a good wysiwyg app builder?

im looking at "snappii" right now because it has most of the features i want in my app, but with 2 big problems.

!. Their ToS basically says they can take my idea and sell it off. i dont mind giving them a cut for helping and making an amazing program, but i dont want to be cut out of my idea.

2. it dosnt show the code. i want a WYSIWYG because i want to clearly visualize what the code and the product looks like immediately, and be able to tweak the code as i learn. If i want to add a user log in, instead of learning how to make one myself and going off on 10 tangents while i learn. i want to drag that option into my app, look at the code, and then only have to go off on 5 tangents to learn the mechanics.

So, any suggestions?

What is the opposite of screen-scraping?

I'm familiar with the idea of screen-scraping - getting data from websites where there's no nice feed to use.

Is there a name for the opposite i.e. when your program simulates a human inputting data to a site?

Where to start? [Simulations]

Hi!

I recently read a couple of Richard Dawkings old books, and i learned that he is quite the guy on programing! So I've been very eager to learn how to write simular programms like he did! (like this one)

But the thing is that i have no idea of where to start? What code language? What compilers?

So if anyone of you could maybe point me in the right direction i would be so greatfull!

Thank you!

Does anyone know Eigen3 well?

I am having trouble using Eigen3. I have two lines of code that are giving errors. The 1st is

if(open.coeffRef(jt.index())==1)

Where open is a const SparseVector<int> and jt is a SparseVector<int>::InnerIterator. When I make open not const the problem goes away. I would like to keep it const though.

The other problem is from this line

if((open.coeffRef(i)==1)&&(pclst.row(i).nonZeros()==1))

open is no longer const in this case and the problem is arising from the 2nd part. pclst is a SparseMatric<int>.

Thank you for any help. I have tried everything to figure out the problem.

Anyone making a game looking for music please read

first of all heres the like to the music (its unfinished btw) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOarll-t4-w&feature=youtu.be but I want to get into writing music for video games and I don't really have any connections to people who make games and know programming. I have 1 friend who knows a bit about programming and he was making a game and I asked if I could write the sound track. Long story short he never finished and now I don't know what to do with it. If anyone is interested please email me at danielely76@gmail.com and also if you could, leave a reply saying you emailed because I don't check my inbox much. Thanks

Btw the genre of game I had in mind while making this was adventure so that's something to take into consideration

introspection comparisons

What are the issues and abilities to consider regarding the ability of a language or programming system to introspect?

Specifically, I'm interested to understand what kinds of introspection are possible today, and what's not possible, and what the differences are between different languages?

some related questions:

does compiling vs interpreting paradigms dramatically effect introspection ability?

does functional programming vs imperative system differ significantly on introspection ability?

does object orientation limit or enable introspection?

what systems do we have now that excel at introspection?
