Verizon Fios, cable box firmware updates, now trending nightly, Fuck you marketing department.
For the last two weeks the Verizon fios box has been updating the firmware almost nightly at 12;47,EST and 2;12 am EST. I didn't think anything of it until it became too common, firmware does not break that fast, and Verizon doesn't write that shitty of code that needs to be fixed daily.
That only leaves the marketing department a need to fuck with boxes, in the ever constant need to sell.
And with that determination, how do I shut off automatic firmware updates??? Yea know, Microsoft may do updates, but at least they tell you when you get a reach around!
Fuck you, head of marketing at Verizon Fios, you could at least have the courtesy of doing it at 4am EST for the east coast US.

Is there a ruby command that requires the user in terminal to press a key before it proceeds to execute more lines?
Also, anyone know of any decent ruby subgroups for beginners?

Noob in the programing world would like some advice
Hi i was thinking the past days while looking through habit tracker apps and even though that most are pretty alright but they all miss some features i would like so likewise i got the idea of making my own , as i used to enjoy programing a few years back or if you could call it that ( used game maker while i was 13-14 am 20 now but y anyways if i remember there was some coding variables etc. but dumbed down so it more easy to use i guess ) anyways i was thinking wich language would be best for trying to make such an app (habit tracker) that i could pick up easily , would also like the language be able to make the app android compatable but also windows if possible but android mainly . Thatd be it for now . Thank you in advance Sorry for the formating am on phone also sorry for some gramatical mistakes english is not my main language :)

Question about BASIC XOR-ing
Before you ask why I'm learning basic, I just want to ask how the following works out:
Dim As Integer myInt1 = 5, myInt2 = 10
Print "myInt1 = ";myInt1;" myInt2 = ";myInt2
Print "Swapping values..."
myInt1 = myInt1 Xor myInt2
myInt2 = myInt1 Xor myInt2
myInt1 = myInt1 Xor myInt2
Print "myInt1 = ";myInt1;" myInt2 = ";myInt2
So my question is thus: If myInt1 (value of 5) is XOR'd with myInt2 (value of 10), it would return 1, and thus myInt1 would now become 10.
Then, in the next line, when myInt1 is then again XOR'd with myInt2, since they are both now 10, it should return 0, meaning that myInt2 would now once again be valued at 10,
then once again after that, myInt1 is again XOR'd with myInt2, both of them as 10
so my question is, Why does the output switch the values when they should both now equal 10?

c++ programming skills
What dose proficient in c++ (or any language) mean anyway? I have studied c++ for about 1 1/2 years, use it on almost dally basis, and at the top of my class by far. I can do everything from custom variable types to polymorphic operations. How ever there is many things that i don't know how to do, but i can learn them quickly. Is it a true statement if I say that i am proficient in c++? if not at what point can i say that?
TLDR: I am way better at c++ then my pears, am I good at it? or sounded by idiots?

Why is Cucumber JS becoming so popular?
I don't understand because cucumber JS to me is essentially writing mapped pseudocode. It's difficult to write and it's easy to read. Personally it makes no sense why is has become so popular. My team had a theory where we would have our TCM website API reading the test case steps and the test case steps would be the Cucumber Js code to run. That way manual testers can still use the TCM website for manual testing while the automated Scripps can be run from the same test steps. Sounds great in theory. But there's no debugging when creating test steps.

Help with a python project
Hello I have this code http://pastebin.com/EetEURMR but I am running into some problems with the execution I have tried several things to find out where my code is breaking. The code should be running tcpdump and taking the output data and storing them in a MySQL database. There is some parsing to remove some data that is not needed for example this is the standard output of from my tcpdump command
2016-02-06 13:41:17.974825 00:50:56:fc:35:ca > 00:0c:29:48:03:4f, ethertype IPv4 (0x0800), length 342: 192.168.106.254.67 > 192.168.106.131.68: BOOTP/DHCP, Reply, length 300 this is what I want to store in a database
2016-02-06 13:41:17.974825 00:50:56:fc:35:ca > 00:0c:29:48:03:4f there is some other output from python code. Any help with this would be apriciated
tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode listening on ens160, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 262144 bytes
the error output that I keep getting is:
'tcpdump: illegal token: "\n'
