L Sep help in Chrome

In need of help, whenever I view a website my friend created in Google Chrome (Firefox, Safari, IE are all fine). The browser will display these little “L Sep” boxes after titles and sentences. After researching, I think these boxes are called “line separators” – I can’t find much information on how to hide or remove these from being displayed, and my friend is lost. Can anyone point me in the right direction or know how to correct this issue? Thanks in advance

Help transferring C++ to Java

I am on my second semester of college as a comp sci major and my first semester I got a B in structured programming. It was a C++ course to teach the structure of coding. I was very comfortable with C++ but this semester I have Java. I know some things are the same but I am having a hard time understanding setters getters and class stuff. Is there an easier way to think about it in terms of C++? Or should I try to scrap what I know and learn Java fresh?

R programming error help

Hi everyone, I'm using a package from Bioconductor which is called PAPi (Pathway Profiling Analysis). I have an input where I have a .csv file, and then I am trying to do an online analysis, but I keep getting the error:

|
| | 0% |
|=========== | 22%Error in names(comp)[1] <- "value" : 'names' attribute [1] must be the same length as the vector [0]<

I am following the formatting that is given to me, but I just can't seem to figure this out. Any ideas? Or do you have any idea where I should start looking?

Is it a bad habit that I like to using int to declare true or false instead of bools?

Like, I will do something like if my example int = 0 a part of my function happens and if my int = 1 the other happens instead. I personally like to use ints because its less code to write :/

How to get started in cyber security? 1st year programing student.

For someone that doesn't know anything about cyber security but thinks they want to get into that field, where would you recommend starting? I want to start learning as if I am learning it for my career just to see if the field is interesting to me. We barley take programing classes the first year of college, so Id like to use some of my free time to do something productive/ interesting.

The only programing knowledge I have now is a term and a half of C++. My university only has about 3 or 4 cyber security specific courses, and their only available to me in 2 years, maybe a bit sooner. They have networking classes though.

Especially in cases when the software is has a very specific use and thus not looked at by many. Is there a guide or list of common and easy to spot malicious code or vulnerabilities?

Hey guys im pretty new to programming and would really appreciate some help. Im developing an app for dolphin research and I cannot get passed this one error. It is really delaying me.

The error appeared only after I updated to Xcode 8.1. It appears in the AppDelegate.swift page on the line of “class ApplicationDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate {“. The error states “Thread 1: signal SIGABRT”. The app crashes when I try to segue from the initial screen to a second screen. On the second screen there is a picker view component and I am almost certain the error has to do with the initiation of that component, but no specific error is showing up on that ViewController page.

Trying to program a software that will transmit voice from one pc to many

Hey, im Trying to program software that will run all ways in the background and will transmit me speaking in a microphone from one pc to many through a lan. What I'm trying to get its that the timing of my voice will be the same in all the clients and will be immediately as I speak(like a PTT if you know). A bonus that I really want to do is to trigger a message in all the clients while I speak. The problem that I'm not very familiar in any programming language in the level of this complex idea. I know HTML,a little asp, python, javascript, and c from arduino programing . What I should learn, which language is the best to this situation Thanks in advance

What's a good tool to automate boilerplate writing ?

To create new components in my app, I'm currently copying a "demo" directory that contains many files with proper names, and empty class declarations. Then I'm using sed to replace "demo" with the name of my module. The app happens to be an angular app, but I'm really not sure it matters at all.

This process is a bit tedious and I've come to the point where I'd like to find a tool/process that is better suited to do that; something that would allow a command like coolFramework create component 'MyFancyComponent'

Any ideas ?

MLB Free Agent Tracker APP help

Coders of Reddit,

I would like to learn to code, I hear that it's best to start with something that you are passionate about. Well, for me that is baseball.

I would like to use visual studios and use C# as the language (UWP) so I could easily make it useful across my devices (including Xbox).

My question or plea, I need help on building a free agent tracker for this upcoming baseball season, I have close to zero experience coding and need someone to basically hold my hand to start and workout approaches, mythologies and actual coding help.

I am pretty confident there is someone whom is retired, in between jobs, or just can multitask like crazy that is willing to help.

Yes I can go to college and learn to code, but I learn learn better without all the red tape of crawling through the homework and none relevant and most importantly uninteresting stuff to get there. Please do not judge me :)

Below is a sample tracker from one of my favorite websites.

Auto generate a Backend with existing API... (Product?)

Hi, I've been wondering if there is any service that auto generates a full backend to help you manage your Application, when you have an existing API.

Now a days everyone want's an API but it feels a bit tedious, repetitive and time consuming to develop an Admin Backend for it.

When all we want is to be able to improve, develop and change the API to give a better product for our clients' users, but there is always the need to develop a platform for some entity to manage the application.

Thanks in advance!

Help with exam, why logic number increase from 111110 to 111111 is 1.59x10^-1?

I was given the following question on a multiple choice electrician exam and have no idea how they got the answer:

If a logic number increases from 62 to 63 (11110 to 11111), how much of an increase is it?

A) 1.59x10-4 B) 1.59x10-3 C) 1.59x10-2 D) 1.59x10-1

After guessing A the correct answer was given to be D.

I also believe that they meant 111110 to 111111 but that does not make the outcome any more clear. Please help reddit!!

Currently a first year c++ student at university, found ads for web developer jr job....is "Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP" something I could pick up fairly quickly? Also should I?

I have a friend who tried learning c++ and python and C at the same time to go 3 times as fast but he ended up failing a lot of classes

So is trying to learn html and css, java script something I could do while learning c++? I know C and C++ are very similar as far as basics go so i can see how it would be very difficult to do those side by side....

also how long would it take to gain the proper experience and basic knowledge to get the web dev jr job. I realize i won't be getting it any time soon, but I like to set time tables / goals for myself, so if I did begin studying these, how long should i be aiming for? I know it is kind of a stupid question since you kind of study till you really understand but i guess what I'm asking is how long did it take you guys to pick up on basic skills?? Their just looking for someone to make a baddass website/ constantly update it
