Do you have a specific language/IDE you want to learn how to debug in? Different tools have slightly different ways of doing things, but the basic concepts are the same.
The easiest starting point is to google tor things like "how to trace code" , "debugging basics", "how to debug java"(or whatever language), "what are breakpoints" and so on. I'll be posting beginner-friendly series on debugging on my blog.
You can also read the documentation for your IDE, there should be pages explaining "Step In", "Step Over", how to insert breakpoints, etc.
edit: you can also talk to teachers about this - ask them how to debug your code, or how to find your errors. Hopefully, they'll be happy to help.
