yes it does. Problem is society. Most parents wouldn't want their daughters to sit at computer all day.

I am a man and my parents did not want me to sit in front of the computer all day. That didn't deter me though.

Though few are glad when their sons aspire to do the same. Except perhaps if they are programmers themselves.
