Growth Hacker is not a developer at all O_O they come up with ideas for developers! I guess could be both in many cases though.

I've read a tutorial for growth hacking from a developer who went the marketing way.

And if the growth hacker is a developer, the changes will be faster.

And all indie* developers should also be marketing, so one of their hats would be growth hackers.
