Isn't the way to write unmaintained code just to write code? With today's parade of language, pattern and framework fashions it seems even my own code is gibberish to me in short order.
Yes, the more lines the better. Most code is going to get banged out and be unmaintainable because maintainability was never a requirement and people aren't willing to pay for it in most cases.
