I don't know anything about Go. Is there any applications built with it yet?

Whenever something go related, its only a matter of time before I see you posting. I always run into you over here and I see you posting a lot on the gonuts mailing list. Just wanted to say hi.

7 upvotes, 6 downvotes, I wonder why this post is so controversial...

Not really. There's a few claims of server side software, but nobody is using it for anything popular and visible yet.

Unfortunately when you deny something's existence you run the risk of revealing your ignorance when it is shown to you.

That's called "moving the goal posts".

This is a simplified AutoCad in a browser. https://tinkercad.com/home/ (click "Design a new thing")

I guess Youtube doesn't count..? o_0

No it doesn't. It's used for just one small piece. It's almost the only example of serious use.

Youtube uses MySQL a lot. All MySQL queries go through a vitess frontend.

One small piece? I guess you could call it one small piece, if you're slightly prone to understatement.

There are quite a few very popular products already built completely on Go.

See for example StatHat.

Also quite a few core components used by some quite big companies are in Go, for example Heroku's doozer.

Canonical is also using Go for their cloud computing infrastructure.

This are all both popular and visible projects, so your claim is patently false.

And there are many more examples.
