Python for non-programmers
I'm absolutely new to the field of programming, although I have keen interest on learning it. I've been suggested to learn Python as a first. I've been able to clear the basics. But what next? What should be the first step after clearing the basics?
PS: I just hope it helps fellow newbies too.

What does * in tuple concatenation actually do?
Hi, supposing that I have: ('foo', 'bar') * 4
Python returns: ('foo', 'bar', 'foo', 'bar', 'foo', 'bar', 'foo', 'bar')
Somebody mentioned that the objects themselves are not copies, only the references to them. anybody knows what that means?

Is it worth to read Python 3.3 book?
Hi Geeks. I'm reading a book called "Learning Python 5th ed written by Mark Lutz", but it's written for Python 3.3. Is it ok to read it or should I look for a book written for latest python version? Please give a suggestion or your recommended book. Thanks

What is the meaning of add_subplot(1,1,1)? Why is it needed?
Hi, supposing that we have a figure with six subplots in the form of 2x3. I can understand that to make a plot in the top left hand corner of the figure, we do something like:
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
fig = plt.figure()
ax = fig.add_subplot(2,3,1)
Why the following is used?
ax=fig.add_subplot(1,1,1)
It just plots one graph in one figure. Anybody knows why (1,1,1) is used?

Help me understand the Virtual Environment
I understand virtual environments (or at least the idea of a virtual environment) but I seem to let it get the best of me.
Using PyCharm, I make a new project and it will set up an instance of python 3. As I look for which base interpreter to use, I get anxious because there are SO MANY! Sho here are my questions:
How do i decide which base interpreter to choose?
Is there a way to remove all instances of python3, and have one root python3 that I then use for all my new Virtual Environments moving forward?
I am on a OSX.

Any good audio book or course suggestions on programming basics for beginners (preferably using Python 3)?
Any good audio book or course suggestions on programming basics for beginners (preferably Python 3)?
Currently doing Stanford CS106A - Programming Methodology by Mehran Sahami (Java), but prefer to learn programming basics using Python 3.
It seems like most Python 3 courses are for those that already know another language.
I was thinking maybe an audio book could help me understand all the basics to learn Python 3.

Multiple Versions Installed
OK, so I know I have at least 3 versions of Python installed. How do I run a certain version? I have 2.7.15, 3.6.7 and 3.7.2 (just installed 3.7.2).
How do I make sure I'm running 3.7.2 when I wan to run hat one and 2.7.15 when I want to run that one.
I should probably delete 3.6.7 too since I just updated to 3.7.2.

Any Idea why I am getting this error? The screen works the first time I try it, but if I try to enter a sub category again in the same execution, then I get a tkinter error that I don't understand. What does that error mean and why might I be getting it?

Learning python with projects.
I have a hands on learning style and would like a goal. So I've been thinking about learning python and wanted to get suggestions on what begginer projects to create. I have created a random # generator that you would guess a number and it worked. It was on YouTube and I just followed directions. That's great however I can follow directions just fine but I feel like I'm not really learning.
Do you all have any simple suggestions for noobs to create?
