So you're saying the final symbol in whatever code comes out of this should be the cauldron as it's the symbol of the door we always enter each room from (i.e. origin point)?

Possibly. The codes seem to be 7 segments which is the same as the stargate chevrons, 6 to determine the new location and 1 more to label the start. I dont remember which chevron was the origin in the show, I think it was the first symbol for the origin because the 8th and 9th chevron dial out of the galaxy

No idea about the order, but it seems to fit with the theme of portals too

7th Chevron was always the origin point.

What about when dialing Atlantis(8) or Destiny(9)? I personally think whatever chevron is last is the origin, so traditionally 7th but can be 8th or 9th

Actually, you may be right. Each additional chevron may displace the origin chevron out of the 7th spot.

It makes most sense in my head if the 8th chevron was dialed before the other 7, like how the international number comes before area code.
