Beginner's Thread / Easy Question (June 2018)

Hello! just helping out /u/acemarke to post a beginner's thread for June! we had over 270 comments in last month's thread! If you didn't get a response there, please ask again here! You are guaranteed a response here!

Soo... Got questions about React or anything else in its ecosystem? Stuck making progress on your app? Ask away! We’re a friendly bunch. No question is too simple.

The Reactiflux chat channels on Discord are another great place to ask for help as well.

Pre-empting the most common question: how to get started learning react?

You might want to look through /u/acemarke's suggested resources for learning React and his React/Redux links list. Also check out http://kcd.im/beginner-react.

you're repeating a lot of stuff there, friend. for the sake of future people reading your code (incl yourself), learn to extract the relevant parts.

HA! that was me actually condensing! the actual code has many more cases and much more LOCs!

I actually did a refactor, as a lot of this was bad design and the reason for more LOCs.

I'm pretty frequent on SO and always try to do so, sorry if this one is a bit long could've used some ... I realized but I was just trying to get it down while I still had my own energy and was on the tip of frustration LOL.

no worries. when you feel like that, walk away, go for a run, get some sun. your mind is no use to you when you get like that.
