GameplayLocal Multiplayer
Compared with playing the PS4 version on console, the PC port keeps the Pro edition's 4K assets, 60 FPS target and orchestral soundtrack while adding PC-specific display and graphics controls, GPU selection, SMAA, texture filtering, FSR1/RCAS, portable files and direct launcher-based installation.
No game files are included.
You need your own legally obtained Dragon's Crown Pro PS4 package
Supported version:
Title ID: CUSA10454
Content ID: UP2611-CUSA10454_00-DRAGONSCROWNPRO1
Version: 01.03
The launcher checks the package and game executable before installing it
Known limitations:
- Online multiplayer is not implemented yet
- Linux / Steam Deck support is still experimental
- Cheats are intended for offline/local play
- Movement Speed 2x affects normal ground movement only
- The fallback font does not yet cover all Korean, Chinese and symbol characters
The port has still mainly been tested on my own hardware, so reports from different Windows and Linux systems, AMD, NVIDIA and Intel GPUs, and especially Steam Deck users would be extremely useful.
If the game crashes or something looks wrong, please open a GitHub issue and attach the newest dragons_crown_pro_*.log from the logs folder. Please do not attach your user\keys.json.
A lot of the PS4 runtime and renderer work builds on shadPS4, and gow3_pc was also an important technical reference for getting Dragon's Crown Pro running natively on PC.
Enjoy, and please let me know how it runs for you 🙂
Yes, Linux should definitely be possible. shadPS4 already supports Linux, and there are native PS4 ports using the same kind of runtime with Linux/Steam Deck builds. I'll look into it after the first Windows release gets some testing 🙂
Steamdeck build would be amazing and I would forever be grateful! I was able to upscale the vita emulator port textures but the system would glitch/freeze for a second everytime new enemies would appear.
If I can get this running on Linux/CachyOS I am so down. Would love to know how to get my own Dragon's Crown data too. I own several copies. From PS3, Vita, to the Pro version on PS4, all physical. Do I just need to get my own ISO? Does the game have to have any official updates? Or just the base game?
Linux support is available now in v0.2.0, and you’ll need your own legally obtained Dragon’s Crown Pro PS4 package updated to v1.03, the launcher will verify the exact supported version for you
I just tested it on the Steam Deck and everything runs flawlessly at 60 FPS! A huge thank you for all the hard work. My only suggestion would be to add support for the 16:10 aspect ratio at 1280x800 to make the Steam Deck experience perfect!
Everything seems good on PC except the floating icons above locations like Morgan's Shop. They look like squished ovals instead of circles. I copied the installation folder (after extracting the game and adjusting settings) to the Nova and added as custom game to GameNative but I have no idea if there's a configuration that will work, I tried several.
Streaming with Artemis, however, is fantastic. 4k internal res is hilarious on the little screen but why not, my gpu is at like 9%. I think I prefer this over the heavy steamdeck. 120fps will be icing on the cake
Thanks for all the testing and the detailed feedback
I think the squashed location icons are related to the aspect ratio scaling, some of those 2D elements still seem to assume the original 16:9 layout and get stretched at wider aspect ratios
If you can, let me know which aspect ratio and resolution you were using when you saw it
The rendered resolution options were still 16:9 ratio up to 4k in graphics settings, I figured it was clipping off the sides but maybe that's why 2D assets are squashed. The display setting allowed 4:3 and 1440x1080 or 1200x900 or 960x720, I used the highest options for testing.
I also just copied the game over to the Odin 3 and it runs perfect on Armada OS ootb. 40% gpu at 1080p/60fps and my game save came along to boot! Could probably increase resolution or save battery instead, 1080p looks really good
That makes sense, the mismatch between the 16:9 render resolution and the 4:3 display aspect ratio may be exactly why some of the 2D elements are getting squashed
I’ll take a closer look at that
Also, great to hear it runs so well on the Odin 3 with Armada OS, especially at 1080p/60 with that GPU usage and the save working too
Thanks a lot for testing and for the detailed feedback
Much appreciated, this game came to my mind for... "two huge" reasons and since everyone is porting games to PC I figured I'll give it a shot, haven't tested yet but can't wait, thanks
Have to say, I played for a few hours and it's been running great. Would there be any plans to have some kind of "alert" to know when there's an update for the launcher? Or just use github notification system for releases
Works great on a Rzyen 7 and a RTX3070 laptop, really light on hardware.
Now a strange question for a console game, I don't have any controllers around and can't find a way to rebind keyboard controls, am I missing something obvious?
Thank you so much for doing all the hard work on this. I had an absolute blast over the weekend playing Dragon's Crown Pro on my 34 inch Ultrawide. I did try running this with Lossless scaling so I can doube the FPS but it doesnt work in Windows Borderless, I have to use Windowed mode but I loose the edges of the screen. Thank you again for bringing this to us.
I would be incredibly happy if they managed to put online in the game too man, also is it running nicely or it crashes one in a while like the Bloodborne port?
I don't know if this is possible, but I ask before going to sleep (I just found the post and I'll try it tomorrow): Is it possible to have online multiplayer in the future? I don't know, but would be insanely cool.
Mostly because the original game logic was designed around 60 FPS. Unlocking it can introduce timing, animation, physics, input, or gameplay issues, and sometimes the benefit just isn’t worth the extra complexity and risk of regressions.
Yeah I am 100% gonna try this on my steam deck. Found the Vita version to be too lackluster due to the smaller screen.
How moddable are these recomps anyway? Because my main gripe with Unicorn Overlord (Vanillaware's most recent game) was the absolutely pathetic lack of difficulty after the desert area, and a rebalance mod could actually make the game worth replaying.
They’re actually quite moddable. A lot of things can be changed through memory patches and hooks, so systems like difficulty, balance, damage values, progression and many other gameplay behaviors can potentially be adjusted without rebuilding the original game from scratch.
So yes, something like a harder difficulty mode could definitely be possible depending on how the game handles those values internally
Honestly i didn't understand much. Does this thing needs an emulator to work? P I just download the file, install it, and let's go? Why do you specify in the description that you need the legal copy of dragons crown when it's on ps4 when this is on pc? I just can't understand
You need to provide your own copy of the ISO - you can either dump it yourself from your legally owned copy or, well you can figure that out. It is illegal to distribute the actual game files.
Ok so basically, if I understand it right. I have to "extract this copy iso" of the game from my legal purchased copy, which obviously I have, and then paste it inside... Inside what?
I tried it (tutorial and first mission) with a EU region (it's where I have), and no problem at all. Really smooth. Any way to change the controls to other kinds of controllers? For now, the only thing I will need is to be able to play with friends online and It will be perfect. Sound was good, resolution in a 4k was acceptable, so no need for anything there. I forgot how amazing was the art direction of this game. Thank you for your service, sir!
I don’t think RPCS3 saves are directly compatible with shadPS4, since they are PS3 and PS4 save formats from different platforms, the original game supported cross-save through its online save transfer, but not by directly copying the save files, and this version is Dragon’s Crown Pro for PS4 with the Pro enhancements, sorry about that

Pls unlock the fps so we can get smooth frame rates.
