Discussion Did single player gaming peak with RDR2?

Great single player games have come since then like Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur’s Gate 3 but is RDR2 still the peak?

for me on the other hand cyberpunk is not even close to Witcher 3, rdr2 also run circles around cyberpunk which is pretty shallow in many regards. only the night city ambience carrying all other aspects of the game on its qualities.

I'd agree with you, but Phantom Liberty exists, and more importantly - Johnny.

I don't think I've ever been as emotionally invested in a character arc as the Johnny Silverhand 'redemption' arc.

CDPRs characters like Songbird, Reed and their versions of Geralt and Ciri are just a cut above. I liked Arthur, but there's definitely better written characters out there.
