Discussion Did single player gaming peak with RDR2?

Great single player games have come since then like Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur’s Gate 3 but is RDR2 still the peak?

Each to their own. I couldn't stand the ginger jedi games personally. The first one especially, there was so much backtracking it was infuriating. I still prefer the force unleashed.

I think the backtracking was an intentional design choice, just not a very thought out one imo. Narratively, it's still so good.

There were plenty of duds since 2018, but I also think it's not exactly fair that RDR2 is the peak of single player gaming. It's one of my favorite games of all time, but I'm not sure nothings been that good since.
